Webinar ABB-free@home Update 2.1.4 New ABB-free@home features: Sonos, Alexa and Geofencing With the latest software update 2.1.4. new features were added to ABB-free@home. The highlights are the integration of Sonos and Amazon Alexa. Furthermore, users can now use the new Geofencing function, which brings new comfortable options. In this webinar, we want to explain you the most important new functions, features and worth knowing software changes. We will also give you a live demonstration, how the new functions can be added. Alexa General Information What is Alexa? Alexa is an intelligent personal assistant developed by Amazon The integration enables voice control of up to 65 functions within the free@home system Requirements: Amazon Alexa personal assistant (for example Amazon Echo or Amazon Echo Dot) Amazon user account free@home Remote service for free@home (myabb-livingspace) Internet connection December 14, 2017 Slide 4
Alexa General Information How it works? 1.: The user starts the speech assistant with the keyword Alexa, 2.: The spoken sentence Turn on the lights will be transferred to Alexa Services and interpreted. 3.: The extracted command Lights on will now be transferred to the my.busch- Jaeger service 4.: and forwarded to the local installation 5.: The command is realized by an installed switching actuator December 14, 2017 Slide 5
Alexa Installation Process To install the voice control system the following steps are necessary: 1. Start Amazon Alexa App 2. Activate the free@home skill the user will be forwarded to www.my.busch-jaeger.de 3. Enter user name and password 4. Systems are connected now. With using the command Alexa, find my devices all available free@home devices and scenes will be selected and can be used by voice control now 5. With the Alexa App you can also see an overview of all available devices. These can be deleted if the user don t want to control them with Alexa December 14, 2017 Slide 6
Alexa Functions The free@home Smart Home Skill for Alexa supports the following functions: Function Switching Example Alexa, switch on the ceiling light Dimming Alexa, set the floor lamp to 50% Blinds Alexa, set the blinds in the bedroom to 60% Scenes Temperature Alexa, switch all off Alexa, set the temperature in the living room to 21 degrees *Important: If there is more than one device with the same name, the system will answer to a command with an error! Sonos General information Installation Requirement: all Sonos devices must be commissioned with the Sonos app. They must be in the same network as the free@home System Access Point For some of the features Sonos favorites are necessary. Geofencing General information Introduction: The new Geofencing functions enables the opportunity to trigger actions or scenes, if a user enters or leaves a defined location. Example: if a user leaves his working place, the temperature in his home will be raised to 20 degrees. If a user leaves his house, the All off scene will be triggered. December 14, 2017 Slide 18

Geofencing General information Procedure: The used smartphones need a predefined positioning service to determine the actual position of the device via GPS or WLAN Created locations and their coordinates will be transmitted to the free@home app now If a user enters or leaves a predefined location, a event will be transferred to the operating system. The app encrypts this event and transfers it via myabb-livingspace to the System Access Point in the house of the user No movement data of the user are transferred only a event Because this events are encrypted, the information will be only available for the user himself Note: When the user starts the app for the first time, he has to confirm, that the free@home app has access to the location of the user. Without the confirmation the app won t work. The access can also be changed afterwards in the settings of the smartphone Settings Security Location service Option always has to be chosen December 14, 2017 Slide 20
Geofencing Commissioning Creating geo-locations : The user can create any location in the free@home settings (Settings System Locations) via the button Create new locations Locations can be defined by the address using the lens on the left side of the map or by clicking the map directly with the mouse Radius, longitude and latitude can be adjusted in the settings below. The radius must be at least 200 meter With the bar on the top side the name of the location can be defined and old or no longer needed locations can be deleted December 14, 2017 Slide 21
Geofencing Commissioning Defining events: All created locations can be used as conditions or as event The system is not limited to one smartphone Every user of a system, who is registered at my.busch-jaeger can be used to trigger events With this feature it can be defined, that the scene All-off is triggered, when all or the last person leaves the house The events can be defined in the menu Action The user hast the choose Presence as an event in a first step.
