Purpose The purpose of this guide is to optimize the PeopleSoft experience. Users may experience frequent issues when using PeopleSoft. A majority of these issues can be resolved by having the proper browser settings. This guide will provide you with the proper settings to eliminate frequent issues. Note: Make sure you have all critical security patches installed by going to Tools -> Windows Update. All of these following options are under the Tools menu item in Internet Explorer. General Tab Deleting Cache and Cookies On the General Tab, Click the Settings button on the Browsing history section. 1. Click Settings 2. Security Tab (cont.) Add Oasis to the Trusted Sites list: Click on the Trusted Sites web content zone (Green checkmark) and click the Sites button. a. In the Add this Web site to the zone field type: https://*.oasis.asu.edu b. Click the Add button. c. Repeat steps a. and b. for https://asudev.mycmsc.com d. Scroll down through the list to the Downloads section of the list a. Enable Automatic prompting for file downloads b. Enable File Download c. Verify that all of the boxes are unchecked and click OK. This will prevent PeopleSoft from remembering what you have previously entered in form fields in order to make sure in the information populated is correct. Advanced Tab Browser Guide for PeopleSoft Page 12 of 27
2 1 On the Advanced tab. Scroll to the options and uncheck the boxes for: Reuse windows for launching shortcuts Show friendly HTTP error message Click Apply Click OK Once Completed. Close Internet Explorer and restart it, then try the application you were using again. If these steps do not work, try rebooting your machine and trying to access the application again. If none of these steps resolves your issues, see if you are able to succeed using Internet Explorer on another machine. If it is successful, then it is very likely the browser or a browser setting.
