Every client has unique needs for their SEO project. Each SEO project is slightly different. If you have ever been curious as to what we do when we review a client s website, then this checklist provides insight into our workflow. This is the public version of the checklist we use at Impact Zone. If you do not have access to SEMRush or other SEO software like Moz, search online for similar free SEO tools (http://www.sustainedsurge.com/free-seo-tools/) to accomplish the required task. Please be aware that not every step is necessary for your website, or it may be outside the scope of our agreed-upon deliverables. This step includes a clarity call where we discuss your website and social media problems and offer initial solutions. We run a series of small tests on the site and do some spot checking. At that point, we can usually evaluate the larger set of issues that you need to address, the value to you of implementing those services, what problems they will solve for you, how that can improve your business or blog, and provide a ballpark estimate to you as to the cost of implementing those services.
We set up our workflow and processes here. We gain access to your Google Analytics, Google Search Console, website platform dashboard, and any other software we may need to review from the back end. We do this in preparation for a full SEO audit.
The SEO audit is a unique document created for you and your business. We conduct a full site review based on a 6-page checklist. The audit is a combination of computer-based tests and human review. To summarize, we check keywords (URL, page title, heading tag, meta description, and body copy); inbound and outbound links; run a full technical site audit; analyze the website's on-page SEO; evaluate the business's off-page SEO, and examine your needs for ongoing maintenance. As part of that workflow, we also evaluate some or all of the following areas, depending on the client's goals and business needs. The competitiveness of the client s targeted keywords for their industry. The current ranking potential of the client s site. A backlink profile analysis. Website usability (https://stayintech.com/ux), website credibility, website accessibility, user engagement, legal issues, and suggestions on how to fix them. Recommendations for avoiding and fixing negative SEO issues such as keyword stuffing, duplicate content, URL canonicalization, hidden text, hidden links, sneaky redirects, and keyword cannibalization. Guidance regarding content development. In particular, we identify the types of content and content categories that will attract additional traffic and links, and, therefore, will help in improving conversions (goals). Suggestions for link building- including from where and how the client may grow backlinks. Next, we discuss the results with you. We note what is positive about your current website and online presence, and what needs improvement. The output is a report that is yours to take with you. You have no further obligation to continue working with us. From the SEO audit we create the document, which is a Scope of Work (SOW). The SOW is a proposal and contract between Impact Zone and your business. The document summarizes your online problems and goals and describes how implementing these services will enable your business goals. We describe the SEO services we offer and list the expected output. We outline the project assumptions, the delivery schedule, guarantees, and intellectual property and copyright. We describe the following sections of SEO work, what we will and will not implement for you, and at what price. Those sections are,,,,,, and. We provide you with a total project estimate and a payment schedule. Once we have both signed the copy for your records. We will invoice you, and once we have received the first payment, we will begin the work., you can download a PDF
This work provides a list of keywords and phrases that should bring the highest volume of relevant traffic to your website. We also consider search volume. The research and analysis work provides you with suggestions regarding how you may use keywords on your website to attract additional traffic.
Social media is one part of our business with which many of us have a love/hate relationship. It takes time to get great and develop a following. Spread yourself too thin and your message will be diluted. We recommend finding out where your business' target demographic spends their time, how they spend it, and on what social media platform. Then put your time into getting really good on those platforms. Pew Research Center (http://www.pewresearch.org/topics/social-media/) has great data on social media demographics. We recommend spending some time on their site. These are a few alternate social media sites to capture for a business or brand if the major platforms are not appropriate. This list is not exhaustive. The business' target demographic will determine which social media platforms are appropriate for the company and brand. https://www.vero.co/ http://wordpress.com/ http://brand-name.tumblr.com/ http://www.hulu.com/profiles/brand-name http://technorati.com/people/brand-name http://about.me/brand-name http://brand-name.posterous.com/ http://profile.typepad.com/brand-name

Primarily, we run these tests with SEO software tools. Then we follow up the test by examining and analyzing the results to find solutions to any identified technical issues. Why do we run these tests? Because often these tests review what search engine crawlers "see" that humans do not.
During this service, we step through a 26-point checklist to determine the current state of the website as viewed by humans and search bots. We review text, images, the overall look and feel (i.e., UI/UX), navigation, footers, the blog, brand look and feel, image optimization, and ALT tag descriptions, title tags, Meta descriptions, etc. This service employs both software and a human looking over the site.
It is important to understand that SEO takes time. You will not see results or a major increase in traffic or revenue within the first month, but you will and should see results within 4-6 months. Good things do come to those who wait. The return on your investment over time is high. Once you build traffic momentum, the value lasts for a long time, even after you stop blogging or updating your site, people will still visit it.
