DSB Home Bureau Home Page Two Factor (Multifactor) Authentication Note: It is highly recommended that users pre enroll while at work by going to https://sss.lasd.org If you re "Two Factor (Multifactor) Authentication" account already has been made, you will be directed to two of the five of your security questions. Continue to enter your work Windows User Name and Windows Password: NOTE: Please DO NOT click on Back arrow in browser to go back to previous screen. If you do, the page would expire and you have to start over from the beginning. If you could not remember your Questions and Answers go to the end of this document under Forgotten Questions and Answers: NOTE: The one time password is emailed to you from an email address of noc@lasd.org. http://intranet.lasd.sheriff.sdn/intranet/sites/dsb/techinfo/outlookwebaccess/sss.html 1/6

Copy your one time password (OTP) to the box below: http://intranet.lasd.sheriff.sdn/intranet/sites/dsb/techinfo/outlookwebaccess/sss.html 2/6

Use the drop down arrow to select your predefined question. Then enter your answer (not case sensitive), see example below. http://intranet.lasd.sheriff.sdn/intranet/sites/dsb/techinfo/outlookwebaccess/sss.html 3/6

Now type your own question and answer. For example: What is the color of your car? then click on Next. On the next screen, please close your Internet Explorer browser after clicking on Next. http://intranet.lasd.sheriff.sdn/intranet/sites/dsb/techinfo/outlookwebaccess/sss.html 4/6

Please close your Internet Explorer browser now. Forgotten Questions and Answers: If you forgot the answers to your questions to access Outlook Web Apps (OWA): 1. Open an internet browser and type at the address line https://sss.lasd.org (this can be accessed inside SDN or from home) 2. On the logon screen, type your Windows username and Windows password. This is the username and password you use to logon to a computer at work. 3. On the next screen, you will be prompted to answer 2 of the 5 questions previously set up. Since you do not remember the answers to the questions, click on one time password challenge instead. This option is below the second question and answer pairing. 4. If you entered a work email AND personal email addresses at the time of enrollment, on the next screen, you will choose whether the one time password should be sent to the work email address or personal email address or both. If you had only entered one email address or had chosen a default email address, you will not be prompted. Click on OK. NOTE: if you are at work while accessing https://sss.lasd.org, it is okay to have the one time password sent to either the work email or personal email address, if you have both. If you have a county issued smart phone (such as a BlackBerry) or VPN access, it is okay to choose work email since you will receive the one time password in your smart phone device or have a way to access your work email. However, if you are at home and you do not have a smart phone or some means to access work email and did not enter a personal email address at time of enrollment, call the Help Desk at (562) 345 4200 during business hours. The Help Desk staff can add a personal email address to your information. 5. After you click OK, the next screen will inform you that a one time password was sent to your work email or personal email address or both. You will be prompted to enter the one time password. The password is case sensitive so you have to enter the password the way it appears on the email you received. Click on OK. NOTE: The one time password is emailed to you from an email address of noc@lasd.org. 6. On the next screen, you have the option to change your personal information or change the question and answer pairings. Click on the question and answer pairings and you will be able to find out the answers to the questions that you have forgotten. At this point, you can change the questions and answers or keep them as is. You can print the question and answer pairings as well for future reference. Click Done. YOU MUST CLOSE YOUR INTERNET BROWSER. NOTE: if you do not receive the one time password via email (whether at work or at home), call the Help Desk at (562) 345 4200 during business hours or send an email to the Help Desk. The Help Desk staff can check whether your email is set up correctly.
