Let's get started: I am sure you want to make the best out of your safelist marketing. You want to get more traffic, more leads and ultimately more sales. You can but there are some things you MUST do and some things you MUST NOT do if you intend to be successful. In this ebook I will give the most critical mistakes that will kill your safelist marketing. Once you avoid these mistakes there is no way that you will not get loads of traffic, more sign-ups, leads and more cash from your safelist marketing efforts. Avoid committing these 10 common but detrimental mistakes and you will be on your way of having more credits, more free traffic, more leads, a bigger list and ultimately more sales and profit. Safelist Marketing Mistake #1 - Using General Affiliate Pages Using General Affiliate Pages It's not a good idea to use a page that everyone else in your main business is using. For example I often see people promoting programs like Strong Future International (S.F.I.). Some affiliates fall into the trap of using the same free gateway website that was given to everyone when joining. This shows that the affiliate is not only lazy but is a newbie and will not make as much money as he/she possibly can. Another problem this creates is that these affiliate sales pages tend to be too long. As a result the safelist member viewing your site will not read through that long page. His/her main goal is to wait for the timer to run out out to get the credits then he/she is off to the next email to get more credits. As a result you must have a page of your own that is short, enticing and causes the reader to subscribe to your list. Safelist Marketing Mistake #2 Not Building Your Own List List Building Safe lists are about building your list, master this and you are on your way to profits. If you haven't already heard: The Money Is In The List! This is very true. Instead of using a general affiliate page like the SFI example mentioned above, create your special page called a Lead Capture Page also called "Squeeze Page" that invites the visitor to submit their name and email address to receive a free product. To create a squeeze page you will need an autoresponder like GetResponse or Aweber. They are the two most used by internet marketers. I use GetResponse for my list. Programs like AdKreator or Instant Squeeze Page Generator are two free programs that will help you to create squeeze pages if you are on a tight budget. Once the visitor to your page submits their info, just build a relationship by sending valuable content. Eventually, you can send them to a general affiliate page like S.F.I., or any other affiliate offer. Safelist Marketing Mistake #3 Not Branding Yourself Branding Yourself Don't be shy to get your name out there in the internet marketing world and even better to put a face to that name. Put your name on your lead capture pages. The more people see your name and photo it produces more credibility which will lead to more leads and ultimately more sales in your primary business. It's not mandatory to show your photo if you are not comfortable, but it helps tremendously. People tend to buy from someone they know and trust. Make them remember you! Safelist Marketing Mistake #4 - Mass Deletion of Emails Sent To You Read Emails Sent To You Some people make the mistake of mass deleting emails without reading them. Don't Do That! Take a moment to at least scan through the emails and read ones that peak your interest. By doing this you will see what other marketers are promoting and what is working for them. And you may find interesting programs that you may want to join or new tools you may need in your own marketing. You will also get ideas to write powerful subject headlines that will get your readers attention. Think about it, if their ad got your attention chances are it got other safelist users attention. So you can just modify the ad a bit and use it in your own marketing. Some safelists offer special promotions to encourage users to upgrade, these are often very good deals, but if you mass delete emails you will not get to see these important promotions that will save you money in the long run. Safelist Marketing Mistake #5 - Promoting The Wrong Products Promoting Wrong Products Once you have subscribers on your list you will need to promote the right affiliate products to them. What is the wrong product you may be asking. Well the wrong product from my experience in using safelist is any high priced product or service or anything not related to internet marketing. DO NOT try to sell to safelist users directly, you should provide a free ebook or mini-course about traffic building techniques or something related to internet marketing on your squeeze page so that they join your list. You have full rights to give away this ebook as a free offer on your squeeze page to entice them to join your list. Once they join your list you can promote various products to them over time. But keep the pricing of the product or service under the $27 range. I find that $7.00 offers or anything under ten bucks work amazingly :-) These low ticket products convert extremely well because people will be more willing to pull out their credit card to spend just $7 on a product rather than on a $47 product or a $100 product. I add double figure subscribers to my list every day by using safelists, and then I promote $5 and $7 products to them and gradually promote products that cost more.
Make an extra $245.00 per week by working only one hour daily: It may not seem like a lot, but over time it adds up, think about it if you made just 5 sales of a $7 dollar product per day, that's $35 per day for about an hour worth of work, that's $245 weekly, or $980 monthly. That's some good extra change :-) Safelists are a very good source of targeted traffic for the internet/affiliate marketing and work at home niche, and everyone using them are looking for either more traffic or leads to their website or their primary business opportunity or they are simply looking for ways to make their business better or to learn more about how to successfully make money online. Therefore promoting low cost traffic and lead generation products or programs to make their primary business better are the RIGHT products to promote. Safelist Marketing Mistake #6 - Uninteresting Subject & Ad Copy Subject Line Quality The majority of safelist users do not bother to read the subject title or the content of the email; their main focus is clicking the credit link. However, many safelist members tend to look for subject headlines that get their attention. I'm sure you want to get maximum exposure to your website or your offers; as a result you should write good subject headlines to cause users to open your email. This is very important! Write subject headlines that spur curiosity or have how to... in the title. Another thing, do not make the common mistake of using the same headline over and over in the same safelist membership site because some email service providers like Gmail will group emails together that have the same subject line; so switch them up a bit. The content of your email should not be more than 5 lines. Users are not concerned with your writing skills or a long drawn out message; all they want is the credit link. Make sure the content is relevant to the title of the email. Finally use HTML whenever possible to living up the email with different colors and fonts. Safelist Marketing Mistake #7 - Joining The Wrong Amount Of Safelists Joining The Wrong Amount of Safelists - Using safelists, like most traffic sources is a numbers game; the more traffic you are able to generate to your offer, the better your chances of getting subscribers, leads, and sales. Volume is crucial... Don't join and send to one or three safelists and expect huge results, join multiple. At the same time do not waste time by joining too many worthless ones to spread yourself too thin, thus diluting your efforts. So what is the right amount you may be asking, the simple answer is about 15-20. You want to make sure that these safelist networks are of good quality and responsive. Safelist Marketing Mistake #8 Not Tracking Your Results or Upgrading Failing To Track And Upgrade The purpose of tracking your results in the safelists you belong to should be to see which ones are working best: getting you subscribers, leads or sales. It also should be to see which ones are totally useless and a waste of your precious time. As a free member, once you have been tracking your results and have determined which safelists are bringing in real traffic, subscribers, leads or sales, you should upgrade your membership in that particular safelist. Upgrading has many benefits including the ability to use HTML ads, use personalization tags, hundreds or even thousands of extra credits to send your emails, you will also earn even more credits when you read the emails of others, etc. As an upgraded member you will be able to send more of your email ads and more frequently than a free user. Depending on the safelist company, rather than sending ads every 3, 5 or 7 days you will be able to send your emails every day. The more of your email ads out there the better your chances of getting them opened to get traffic, leads and cash. So continue tracking and upgrade in the ones giving you positive results for even more profitable rewards. Hits Connect is a really good tracking service that I have used, it costs a bit more than Trck.Me also called TE ToolBox - ( but it has better features, Hits Connect costs $19.95 monthly, Trck.me starts at $9.) Safelist Marketing Mistake #9 Not Using Automation Tools Failing To Make Use of Automation Tools Safelist marketing is very time consuming, but when you set things up the right way from the beginning and then make use of automation tools you will cut your usage time by 50% or even more. You can do this by (i) setting up "Labels" in your Gmail account for specific safelists, (ii) using auto-complete form with password software programs like RoboForm and (iii) by using software tools like Viral Mail Profits or Safelist Genie that allow you to manage all of your safelists from one place. I have used the three of these softwares, however I prefer and continue to use Viral Mail Profits. It's more reasonably priced with lots of features. Shorten The Time You Spend On Safelist By Up To 50% Viral Mail Profits allows you know how many credits you have in each of your safelists, and when is the next time you will be able to send out another email, it also has a free tracking service for your links, and other benefits. I have been using safelists for quite some time before this program was created. Since using Viral Mail Profits and Safelist Genie, they have helped me shorten my safelist marketing time and I recommend them to others as great tools to manage and shorten their safelist usage time by up to 50% or more.
Safelist Marketing Mistake #10 Not Being Consistent & Persistent Not Being Consistent This is not a sprint, it's a marathon! You must be consistent in opening emails for credits and sending out your emails to advertise your offers. You will not see results by starting today and ending within a week. You must mail whenever there is an opportunity for you to send your emails. Commit at least an hour per day or if you can't do an hour then just do 30 minutes. The key is to consistently work at them and you will see the rewards. Whether you decide to use automation tools or manually, "YOU MUST TAKE CONSISTENT ACTION!"
