In 2009, we announced 14 Upgrades. have been created for the upgrade products above. For example, if a customer currently has VMware vsphere 4.0 Standard with 1.5 years of subscription remaining and they purchase 4817Z11 along with a 3 year subscription, they will now have a total of 4.5 years of subscription for their new VMware solution, VMware vsphere Enterprise Plus. The new subscription part number will automatically ensure that customers who had a previous edition and subscription will not lose the remaining time left on that subscription. Any remaining time will be added to the time of their newly purchased license and subscription. We are adding new subscription part numbers specifically for license upgrades. There will be no change to the existing upgrade licenses. No change to part number, cost, or list price. The new subscriptions will carry the same price as the subscriptions you were using. 1.All upgrade licenses must be sold with one of the new upgrade subscriptions. Licenses should never be sold without subscription or the customer will not be able to activate their license. 2.These new upgrade subscriptions are only applicable to upgrade licenses and are not to be sold with any other licenses. 3.Upgrades are for customers who are using 4.0. If the customer is still on 3.5 or older and have valid subscription, they are automatically entitled to 4.0.
