2 Description WebSphere Adapters V6.1 connect packaged enterprise business applications from key independent software vendors with Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) applications designed to run. Manual coding of custom interfaces and ongoing maintenance can easily become a bottleneck impacting the delivery of new business requirements. WebSphere adapters allow new application code to focus on the business logic, and submit transaction requests to adapters using business objects. WebSphere adapters deliver graphical browsing and generation of adapter interfaces, with support from a tooling wizard that connects to third-party applications from the application server development environment to generate the business object definitions. WebSphere Adapters V6.1 provide outbound connectivity or communication from business applications residing in WebSphere Application Server to enterprise information systems (for example, SAP). 4 Adapters can report problems on the adapter tooling component of IBM Rational Application Developer V7.5 via a Product Maintenance Report (PMR) against WebSphere Adapters. When reporting IBM Rational Application Developer V7.5 adapter tooling problems, customers must request support for WebSphere Adapters V6.1. Any potential fixes for WebSphere Adapter problems or high severity IBM Rational Application Developer V7.5 problems reported on the outbound code generator for the J2C Java beans produced by the J2C Java Bean Wizard will be provided through the normal WebSphere Adapter V6.1 on WebSphere Application Server support process.
