1. Before you begin Office 365 ProPlus is available to download free for students, facultys, and staff of Kwansei Gakuin University and Seiwa Junior College (Hereinafter collectively called the university) while they are enrolled in the university. 1.1. Applications included in Office 365 ProPlus You can get the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, and Access. By default, Office 365 ProPlus installs as one package. This means that you cannot select the specific Office programs to install. Depending on devices, some applications may not be supported. 1.2. Who can install and use Office 365 ProPlus It is only available to full-time enrolled students, Faculty (except Visiting, Exchange, and Interchange Faculty), and Staff (except Temporary Staff) of the university. 1.3. Computers and mobile devices where Office 365 ProPlus can be installed on Each user can install Office on 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets (Windows, ipad, and Android), and 5 phones, up to 15 devices. Operating system requirements are below: PC: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or later / Mac OS X 10.10 or later 1
2. Basic Precautions 2.1. Microsoft Office Versions You cannot install and use the same version of Office on the same device. If the version of Office which you want to install is the same as that you already have on your device, uninstall your Office from it first. And when you do so, make sure that you know how to restore it first, then uninstall it. 2.2. Network environment Installing Office 365 ProPlus uses some GB of data traffic. You cannot download it on University Network System. Please access from off-campus. If you use tethering or mobile Wi-Fi, be aware of its data usage as well. 2.3. License Authentication After installation, Microsoft will check the validity of your license in the background every 30 days. If your license loses validity or you keep using the software offline for more than 30 days, you will be prompted to re-authenticate your license. And if 30 more days are exceeded without authentication, Microsoft will go into reduced functionality mode and provide read-only access. Beware of using the software offline. 2.4. Obligation to Delete the Software After your graduation or resignation, your account will be terminated. You will not be able to use Office 365 ProPlus. In that case, uninstall it according to this guide. 2
3. Install Office 365 ProPlus 3.1. Install the Office Note: The following is explained using Mac OS X El Capitan. Open a browser and go to the website https://webmail.kwansei.ac.jp. Log in with your KWANSEI system ID and password you are assigned by the University. Then click Log In. Click the Download Office 365 ProPlus on the lower left of the screen to access to Office 365 Portal. Click Install. 3
If pop-up blocker is enabled, disable it. For Safari, click Safari > Preferences. Then click Security at the top of the window. Uncheck the box Block pop-up windows. When the left screen is shown, click Close and wait until the download is complete. After Office downloads, double click Microsoft_Office_2016_Installer.pkg and run the file. Note: Depending on versions of the Office, installer s name can vary. The installation wizard will come up. Click Continue. 4
On the license page, read the license, and click Continue. You will be prompted to agree the software license. Click Agree. Click the Install button. 5
To install, enter your Mac administrator account name and password (NOT your University credentials). Click Install Software. Depending on your environment, it takes between a few minutes and several tens of minutes to complete the installation. When complete, the "The installation was successful" will display. Click Close to continue. 6
3.2. Product activation A What's New in Word window will display. Click Get Started. Note: The following is explained using word. Click Sign In to Activate Office. Enter your KWANSEI system ID@nuc.kwansei.ac.jp in the box and click Next. 7
Enter your KWANSEI system ID and password. Click Log In. Enter your KWANSEI system ID@nuc.kwansei.ac.jp and password in the box. Click Sign In ( サインイン ). Choose Office Look preferences (theme) and click Continue. Note: Your choice will not affect any other function. Click Start Using Word to start it. 8
4. Deactivate and Uninstall Office 365 ProPlus You can see on which devices you have installed Office by signing in to the Office 365 Portal. When you want to dispose of your device, or stop using the Office on your device, deactivate an existing Office installation first. Deactivating frees up a license. Then you can install Office on a different PC, Mac, or tablet. 4.1. Deactivation Open a browser and go to the website https://webmail.kwansei.ac.jp. Log in with your KWANSEI system ID and password you are assigned by the University. Then click Log In. Select Settings (the Gear icon) in the top right hand side. Select Office 365 settings. From the left menu, select Install Status. Select the device you wish to remove under Install status. Click Deactivate. Click Yes when a conformation dialog box pops up. 9
Make sure that the device s name you selected is removed from the list. 4.2. Uninstall Office 365 ProPlus To uninstall the Office, you need to move the applications and user preference files to the Trash. Once you've removed everything, empty the Trash and restart your Mac to complete the process. Remove the Office 2016 for Mac applications Open Finder, click Applications. Command key + click to select all of the Office 2016 for Mac applications. Ctrl key + click the applications you selected and click Move to Trash. 10
On the Finder menu, click View > as List. Then, click View > Show View Options. If Library folder is already displayed, this task is not necessary. In the View Options dialog box, select Show Library Folder. If Library folder is already displayed, this task is not necessary. Go to Macintosh HD and click Users > User 11

You should back up these folders as needed before you delete them. Go to Macintosh HD and click Users > User name > Library > Group Containers and ctrl key + click each of these folders if present, and then click Move to Trash.
