OVERVIEW PROMPT Visual Notification Pod is a desktop tool that delivers your mobile device notifications at a glance. Customized to you, Prompt uses multi-colored lights to communicate various alerts your device may receive. Use the PROMPT to see when you receive notifications without having to take your phone out of your pocket, bag or purse. Use the free Incipio app for ios and Android to customize your notification colors. In ios, the PROMPT uses ANCS (Apple Notification Center Service) protocol to display notifications. With ios, the PROMPT does not require the free PROMPT app in order to operate with your device; however, in order to customize the colors of your notifications on the PROMPT the app is required. In ANDROID, the PROMPT requires the PROMPT Notification App in order to receive alerts on a your PROMPT device. The app will need to be downloaded prior to connecting to the PROMPT via Bluetooth. Standard colors are assigned to the ANCS notification categories. The table below show the standard colors assigned. By default, these are the colors that the PROMPT will show for their respective categories. CHARGING PROMPT The PROMPT is equipped with an internal rechargeable Li-Ion battery. The battery will run the PROMPT for approximately 7-10 days 1 on a single charge. It is recommended that PROMPT is fully charged before using it for the first time. To charge the PROMPT, perform the following steps: 1. Lift the rubber cover from the PROMPT s charging port by inserting a finger nail or other edge underneath the cover while pulling and lifting up on it. 2. Plug in the Micro-USB connector of the included cable into PROMPT s charging port. 3. Plug the other USB connector end into a USB wall power adapter (not included) or into any powered USB-compliant port or charger such as a computer USB port. 4. CONNECTING TO PROMPT The PROMPT utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standards to communicate with compatible devices. The PROMPT is compatible with ios7 and Android 4.4 and higher BLE enabled devices. TURNING ON IOS DEVICE NOTIFICATIONS Before using the PROMPT with your ios device, you will need to ensure that notifications are enabled. To turn notifications on perform the following steps: 1. Open ios Settings by tapping on the Settings Icon. 2. Select Notification Center from the left-hand side. 3. Scroll down on the right hand side to the INCLUDE section a. Select the Include type you wish to receive notifications about on your PROMPT device. b. Repeat the above steps for each notification type you would like the PROMPT to display. b. Set Show in Notification Center to the ON position. c. Repeat the above steps for each notification type you would like the PROMPT to display. PROMPT USER MANUAL2014 6
PAIRING THE PROMPT WITH AN IOS DEVICE (IOS7 AND HIGHER) Once you have confirmed that your ios notifications are enabled for your device, you may proceed with pairing the PROMPT via Bluetooth using the following steps: 1. Go to the ios device s Settings screen and turn Bluetooth on a. Open ios Settings by tapping the Settings Icon. b. Select Bluetooth c. Toggle Bluetooth on d. Keep your Bluetooth settings open while you perform the next step. 2. Press down and hold the Notification Lens for 2 seconds a. PROMPT will cycle through its colors and automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode 3. On your ios device s Bluetooth device list 4. Select Pair when the Bluetooth Pairing Request a. Select PROMPT (XXXXX) pops up on your device s screen. 5. Done! Your ios device will now begin sending notifications to your PROMPT Visual Notification Pod for alerts that you have configured in the Notification Center. PROMPT USER MANUAL2014 7
PAIRING PROMPT WITH AN ANDROID DEVICE (ANDROID 4.4 AND HIGHER) 1. Download the PROMPT Notification app from the Google Play Store. a. Open the Google Play Store by tapping the Play Store icon. b. Search the Play Store by tapping the magnifier icon in the search bar of the Play Store. c. Type Incipio Prompt and tap the icon in the bottom right corner to start your search. d. Select PROMPT Notification App e. Tap the INSTALL button to begin installation of the PROMPT Notification App f. Accept the App permissions to continue installation PROMPT USER MANUAL2014 8

Once the app has finished installation tap the OPEN button to launch PROMPT Notification App NOTE: If Bluetooth is currently disabled on your device, you will need to enable it before the PROMPT Notification App can locate your PROMPT device. After first launching the app you may be prompted to enable Bluetooth. Make sure to tap Yes to enable Bluetooth. 3. Select PROMPT (XXXXX) 4. Before the PROMPT Notification App can access your notifications you must enable Notification Access. a. Tap OK to enter the Android Notification Access settings. b. Tap in the checkbox located to the right of the PROMPT app. PROMPT USER MANUAL2014 9
c. Click OK to finish allowing the PROMPT Notification App access to your devices notifications. d. You can now press the return/back button on your device to leave the Notification access settings area until you have reached the PROMPT Notification App screen. 5. Done! You may now customize your PROMPT Notification colors and alerts for your device. See the sections below for more information on the PROMPT Notification App and other settings. PROMPT NOTIFICATION APP OVERVIEW The PROMPT Notification App will allow the user to customize the colors that the PROMPT will display for each notification category. For ANDROID, you may also customize whether an alert is sent at all for each notification category. For ios, notification categories can only be configured from within the ios Notification Center, and not from the PROMPT Notification App. IN IOS To change the color of a notification category on your ios device: 1. Download the PROMPT Notification App from the Apple App Store a. Search the App Store for prompt b. Tap the FREE icon located to the right of PROMPT Notification app and then tap the INSTALL icon to begin the install process. c. Once you have finished installation tap the OPEN icon located next to the PROMPT app in the App Store or from your ios springboard. PROMPT USER MANUAL2014 11
2. Open the PROMPT Notification App 3. Tap TAP TO BEGIN 4. Select the notification category 5. Select the desired color on the color wheel. Once a color is selected, it is automatically saved to that notification category. 6. You can use the TEST button to see what the selected color looks like on the PROMPT. IN ANDROID 4.4 AND HIGHER To change the color of a notification category: 1. Open PROMPT Notification App. 2. Select the notification category. 3. Select the desired color on the color wheel. Once a color is selected, it is automatically saved to that notification category. 4. You can use the TEST button to see what the selected color looks like on the PROMPT. 5. Use the Notification Category ON / OFF button to turn the corresponding notification category on or off. If in the OFF position, the PROMPT will not show notifications for that category. USING THE PROMPT You are now ready to receive notifications on the PROMPT. As notifications come through to the PROMPT, it will indicate so by displaying the color that has been set for that notification category. The PROMPT is capable of displaying multiple notifications. The notifications will be displayed in the order in which they were received. To clear notifications from the PROMPT, simply press and release the top of the notification lens to press the multifunction button located on the bottom foot. Press and release to clear notifications. CHECKING THE PROMPT S BATTERY The PROMPT is equipped with an internal rechargeable Li-Ion battery. This battery will run the PROMPT for 7-10 days* on a single charge. Simply press and release the top of the notification lens / multifunction button once to check the PROMPT s battery status. The PROMPT will blink green, yellow or red depending on how much charge is left on the internal battery. It is recommended to recharge the PROMPT as soon it indicates red battery status. RESETTING THE PROMPT Press and hold the Reset Button with a paper clip for 2 seconds. The PROMPT will turn on and flash its color sequence. TURNING OFF PROMPT To turn the PROMPT off, press and hold down on the PROMPT for 2 seconds. The PROMPT will do a long White flash once. The PROMPT is now off. Press and hold for 2 seconds.
