Getting Started In order to get started using the ZED ELD adapter two separate events must occur. However it does not matter the order in which they are completed. One, a driver or owner operator must install the ZED app from the ios or Google play store and sign up/create an account. Two, the driver must be added to a company fleet through the Fleet Management Portal or FMP (fmp.zed-eld.com) site. If you are an owner operator with your own DOT number you will be prompted to create your company and fleet in the application during the sign up process. In order to see the sign up process in greater detail please see https://zed-eld.com/pages/help for the appropriate quick start guide. NOTE: THE DRIVERS CDL OR DRIVER S LISCENSE NUMBER AND STATE OF ISSUE MUST ENTERED IN EXACTLY THE SAME FORMAT IN THE DRIVER S APPLICATION DURING ACCOUNT SETUP AS WELL AS THE FLEET MANAGEMENT PORTAL WHEN ADDING A DRIVER. THIS INCLUDES SPACES AND HYPHENS. User Roles and Assignments COMPANY MANAGERS A company manager oversees operations of the whole company. Company managers have the highest level of access to the FMP site. FMP access: They have full access to FMP. FLEET MANAGERS A fleet manager runs a fleet, often categorized based on geographical region or vehicle type. A company and fleet manager may be the same person at small fleets. FMP access: They have full access to fleets assigned to them. DISPATCHERS A dispatcher s job is to monitor driver daily logs for errors or violations, working hours and equipment. They schedule drivers to pick up and deliver loads to customers or vendors. This applies to mid-large sized fleets. FMP access: Can only assign loads and add drivers. Page 2
OWNER OPERATORS Owner Operators are both drivers and owners of their fleet. Some will use a combination of FMP and the driver app, while some may opt to use the driver app only. FMP access: They have full access to FMP, unless they also drive for a fleet they don t own. FLEET DRIVERS Fleet Drivers are drivers for fleets and do not own the business. They have the same access throughout the driver s app as any owner operator. Fleet drivers can t access FMP. FMP access: None Page 3
Sign Up Company Manager Sign up is a 2 step process Step 1: Company Information Step 2: Password Setup Step 1: Company Information Go to https://fmp.zed-eld.com/sign-me-up to sign up as Company Manager in Fleet Manager Portal (FMP) Enter all the Mandatory information and perform the recaptcha (I m not robot), and click Continue to continue to the Password setup screen. Step 2: Password Setup Setup up the password and click on Sign Me Up to create your Company Manager account. Click on sign in link to navigate to the FMP Sign In page. Page 5
Fleet Manager- Finding a Driver s DVIR To find a DVIR(s) for a given driver on the fleet management portal, go to Drivers, find their name in your list of drivers and click it. The Fleet Manager then clicks DVIR and can see the DVIR s, issues, and times they were certified. Page 6
Dash Board Fleet Management Portal The dashboard allows the fleet manager or dispatcher to see the location and status of their drivers. GPS locations are updated every fifteen minutes. Clicking on the marker and the driver s name, status, and load destination will be displayed. Drivers - Fleet Management Portal In order to add a driver to a fleet two separate events need to occur. However, it does not matter which is performed first. One, the driver must create an account on the driver application using their CDL or driver s license number and state of issue. Two, the fleet manager must add the driver to the fleet. In order to add a driver to a fleet on the fleet management portal the fleet manager will first click on drivers and then add driver. Drivers are added to the fleet by the fleet manager entering in their CDL or driver s license number and the state of issue. Page 7
Adding a Driver Fleet Management Portal In order to add a driver click add driver then fill out the form data NOTE: THE DRIVERS CDL OR DRIVER S LISCENSE NUMBER AND STATE OF ISSUE MUST BE ENTERED IN EXACTLY THE SAME FORMAT IN THE DRIVER S APPLICATION DURING ACCOUNT SETUP AS WELL AS THE FLEET MANAGEMENT PORTAL WHEN ADDING A DRIVER. THIS INCLUDES SPACES AND HYPHENS. Drivers can be added in 2 ways, depending on whether the driver is already registered with the Company or not. a. Add New - driver is not registered with any other fleet for the company. For adding a new driver enter CDL# and State of the driver. b. Add Existing - driver is already registered with other fleet(s) of the company. For adding a new driver to the fleet, who is already registered with other fleet of the company, use the Add Existing option of adding the driver. Managers can choose to allow Personal Conveyance, Yard Moves, and ELD Exemption for drivers the meet the requirements. Page 8
Examples of Exemptions Driveaway-towaway operations CMVs older than model year 2000 Short-haul (100 air-mile/non-cdl 150-air mile) Updating a Driver settings Company Managers and Fleet Managers can update driver s settings in FMP. This can be done by navigating to the DRIVERS menu and clicking on the Driver which needs to be updated. Enable/Disable driver Company Managers and Fleet Managers can disable or enable a driver. This can be done by navigating to the DRIVERS menu and clicking on the Driver which needs to be disabled. To disable the driver, click on the DISABLE DRIVER button, on the top right of the DRIVER PROFILE section. The disabled driver can be enabled again by clicking on the ENABLE DRIVER button on the top right of the DRIVER PROFILE section. Exempt Driver settings Driver can be marked as exempt driver from following 2 screens Add driver Update driver The Exempt Status of the driver can be changed from the ACCOUNT SETTINGS section on the DRIVER PROFILE. Creating or Beginning a New Load Loads can either be assigned by your fleet manager or the driver can create them in their device via the ZED application. Fleet Managers can create loads on the fleet manager portal in the Loads section. Fleet Managers can add loads for different fleets by selecting the fleet from the drop down menu. Page 9

After clicking the Add Load Green button you will see the following screen. Load details are the parameters needed for commercial truck routing. Enter the load details and click the green Create Load button. Page 11
Once you ve successfully added a load you will see this green load created popup. Once a fleet manager creates a load, the assigned driver will see it listed in upcoming loads on the Loads screen. Following functionalities can also be performed from the LOADS menu in the FMP Add Load Assign driver to load Update Load Delete Load Company Manager, Fleet Manager and Dispatcher can perform all the above functionalities for their fleets. Fleet Manager Identifying Drivers on Routes Fleet Managers can see their driver s routes and locations on the web-based Fleet Management Portal. The Fleet Manager will click on the dashboard and click on any of the pins to display the driver info and route information. Below a driver is in Los Angeles and headed to the Destination Montana Shipment that the fleet manager loaded via the Fleet Management Portal. Page 13
Fleets Fleet Management Portal Managers can add a fleets to their company by clicking Fleets then Add Fleet. Once they fill out the required information and click create fleet. Multiple fleets can be created inside of the same company. For instance a company with multiple locations can have their drivers separated into different fleets based on location. Following functionalities can be performed from the FLEETS menu. Add Fleets Search Fleets Update Fleets Disable/Enable Fleets Users Fleet Management Portal Company managers can invite new users into the company. There are 3 different roles that can be assigned to new users. Please see the User Roles and Assignments section for access information. Company Manager Fleet Manager Dispatcher Page 14
Inviting New Users Fleet Management Portal The manager will fill out the required information and the new user will receive an email with a link to create an account. This process is similar to the initial sign up process. Page 15
Logs View/Edit The Company Managers and Fleet Managers can view and edit day logs of the drivers. Click on the driver for which logs need to be viewed or edited and go to the DAY LOGS section. The DAY LOGS HISTORY screen displays all the day logs for the drivers in the descending order of start time. Once you click on the Date link of the day log, all the log details along with load information is displayed. Page 16
Edit Logs Company Manager and Fleet Manager can edit the driver s day log. Once user makes necessary edits, those can be then submitted to the driver for their review and acceptance. The driver has to accept or reject the request to confirm the changes. Page 17
Unidentified logs Company Managers and Fleet Managers can view and assign unidentified logs to drivers. Click on the UNIDENTIFIED DRIVER button on the DRIVERS screen to view the list of the unidentified driver logs. By default all the unidentified logs for the company will be displayed for last one month. Logs can be filtered based on date range, using the top filter criteria. To view the details of a particular log, you can click on the Date, Start Time link of the respective log. Page 18
Company Manager or Fleet Manager can annotate the unidentified log and also assign the unidentified log to a driver. You can add an annotation and click on Save Edits to save the annotation. Also the unidentified log can be assigned to a driver by selecting the driver from Assign to Driver selection option and clicking on Save Edits button. A notification will be sent to the driver to accept or reject the unidentified log. Page 19
Malfunctions Company Managers and Fleet Managers can view the malfunctions from the Fleets Menu. If malfunction(s) occurs then the system will send an email to the Fleet Manager at the end of Fleet day. On Fleets menu, click on the MALFUNCTIONS button to view the details of all the malfunctions. List of all the malfunctions are displayed by default for previous day. You can change the date filters to search for historical malfunctions. You can switch the Cleared Malfunctions toggle to show cleared malfunctions as well. By default, cleared malfunctions are hidden. Page 20
It is the responsibility of the motor carrier to notify the FMCSA of malfunctions that last longer than 8 days. Sign Out Fleet Management Portal Fleet Managers can sign out by clicking on their name on the upper right hand corner of the website and then click sign out. A successful sign out will lead you to the login screen: Page 22
