ClassLink Launchpad FAQ 1. What is ClassLink Launchpad? Launchpad is the replacement for the Citrix based ClassLink desktop that you may have used to access internal district resources in the past from home. It loads completely from within a web browser as opposed to needing an app to get in (Citrix web plugin or Citrix receiver.) It supports mobile devices like ipads, iphones, Android Tabs as well as Mac OSX and Windows computers. 2. How do I get into Launchpad? You can get to LaunchPad by going to the districts homepage www.lancaster.k12.pa.us and then clicking on the ClassLink link at the bottom of the page and then the Launchpad Link, or by typing in your web browser launchpad.lancaster.k12.pa.us. 3. What web browsers can I use with the new ClassLink Launchpad? ClassLink Launchpad supports virtually all web browsers. We recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience on windows, and Safari on Mac OSX, but Launchpad also works in Internet Explorer and Firefox. 4. Is there an app for Mobile Devices? ClassLink currently offers only an ios app for iphones and ipads. You can get the app by going to the app store and searching for ClassLink Launchpad (by ClassLink, Inc). or by clicking the Download on the App Store banner in the bottom right hand corner of the Launchpad Login screen. 5. What if I have an Android device? Currently there isn t an app available for Android, but we have had the best experience when using Firefox for Android to access Launchpad. Chrome works on some devices and not on others; ClassLink is working to support all browsers eventually. 6. How do I pull up the keyboard on Android devices and other HTML5 supported mobile devices? You can either tab the screen with 3 fingers or click this @ icon the top of the window when it thinks a keyboard is needed. that will show up at 7. How do I access all of the internal resources like with the Citrix ClassLink Desktop? By going under My Apps at the bottom of Launchpad; click on the app ClassLink LaunchPad Desktop. Login with your computer/email username (example jpsmith) and password. Here you will get a virtual desktop that is located within the district with all the mapped drives and intranet links in IE or Chrome.
8. Where is eschool Plus, IEP Plus and the other links from the Old ClassLink page? After logging into Launchpad, click on ClassLink Launchpad Desktop app and login with your domain/email password to the cloud virtual desktop. Once logged into this virtual desktop, click the Internet Explorer icon that looks like this. Intranet Home Page that has all the links on the right hand side. This will open up the 9. How do I setup My Classes? My Classes is not currently implemented and being used by our district. Launchpad is for staff only at this time. 10. What is the LaunchPad Agent? The Launchpad Agent, which should now already be installed on your district laptop, allows for local editing of files under My Files X: Drive with your local version of the application used to open that file. It keeps track of changes to documents and it saves changes back to My Documents X drive. 11. I see the following error when logging in? What does it mean? The error is a security feature, but it s safe to run. This is the connector for LaunchPad Agent that is requesting access. Follow the instructions below to allow it. In Chrome, if you encounter the below prompt, 1) put a check in this box by clicking the box and then 2) click Launch.
In Internet Explorer, if you encounter the below prompt, 1) Uncheck this box and then 2) click Allow. 12. How do I install the LaunchPad Agent on my home computer? ClassLink has created a New LaunchPad Agent (Mac and PC) to GREATLY improve the local editing experience! LaunchPad Agent is a small applet that would be locally installed on your computer and it eliminates the need for Java. Local editing of files is lightning fast! LaunchPad Agent stays in your task tray and you can click it to see status of current files and history of previous ones. LaunchPad detects if Agent is installed and falls back to Java where it is not available. Provides notifications on upload/download completion. One click access to documents that fail to upload properly. Available for Mac and PC Using the LaunchPad Agent also means no more Java updates. To download and install the LaunchPad Agent follow these quick and easy steps. Screenshots for each step are included Step Description Step 1 Locate then click the gray circle in the My Files module found on the bottom of LaunchPad Step 2 A new window will appear. Click the Download Agent box to download the agent zip file Step 3 Unzip the file then double-click setup.exe Step 4 Once installed, return to the Download Agent window, then click 'Verify Agent Installed' Step 5 Click close.
