Corvallis Adult Education Spring 2014 Arts and Crafts Jewelry Making Tools are available, but bring your own if you have them. It s always easier working with something your familiar with. Project packets for the classes will be available, but feel free to bring projects you re working on, or ideas of projects you d like to try. These classes are pretty flexible. There is always room for beginners in any of the sessions. Instructor: Peggy Martiny Location: MS Room 16 Dates and Times: March 20 th April 3 rd and 10 th (Call for class availability) Woodcarving Woodcarving for beginners to intermediates and beyond. You will have the choice of using traditional hand tools such as knife and gouge, or power tools like Dremel or foredom. We ll also include an opportunity to add wood burning and painting to our repertoire. Some tools will be available for use for those who have none, until they are purchased. Computers & Technology Beginning Computers This class offers a wide range of computer skills from Which button turns this thing on? through Word processing and more. Introduction to Mac Operating Systems Do you have a MAC computer that you re still not quite familiar with? Well if that s the case then this is the class for you! This class provides a better understanding of the MAC operating system in full capacity. From shortcuts to basic usage, this class shows you how in depth you can go with the MAC OS. Photoshop for beginners Intro to enhancing your digital photos. From selections, to filters, to sharpening. You ll see how good your photos can look. Composites allow for placing multiple images into a single composition. Learn to manipulate both. Everyone needs to have a digital camera (can be point and shoot or DSLR). This class provides a better understanding on how to use a digital camera. Students should bring their own camera. Advanced Digital Photography This class is for a more advanced digital camera user. Covers subject, composition, lighting and rules of photography. Instructor: Doug McConnaha Dates and Times: April 14 th and 16 th 4:00pm-6:00pm Materials fees as applicable. Health and Fitness Advanced Volleyball Class will focus on volleyball instruction and play for players who have already participated in competitive volleyball for a number of years and consider themselves to be at the intermediate or advanced skill levels. Maximum: 25 players. Instructor: Mindy Warnken Location: HS Gym Dates and Times: April 1 st, 8 th, 15 th, 22 nd, 29 th May 13 th, 20 th and 27 th 6:30pm- 9:30pm (Call for availability) Zumba Want to strengthen and tone your body while learning basic Latin rhythms? Then ditch the workout and join the party! This course is a HIGH energy course filled with dance and cardio fitness to all types of international songs including top 40 songs. Walking for Fitness Want to get your blood flowing? Please join us for the fitness walking class and enjoy the beautiful Bitterroot Spring days. A fast paced walk to get your heart going. The class meets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4:00 and lasts 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Come breathe some fresh air, exercise and make friends! Parenting with Love and Logic Come have some fun and laughter while discussing and practicing the Love and Logic philosophy and techniques. This session includes strategies that are especially useful for younger children, but are also acceptable for all ages. Child care may be available if pre-arranged.
