EMC & RF Workshop 9 th November 2017 TÜV SÜD
Introduction Dealing with electromagnetic interference (EMI) can be one of the most problematic challenges in the design and development of electrical and electronic products or equipment. When proper electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design practices are not implemented, it will greatly affects a product s functional reliability in its usage environment. To comply with EMC regulations, manufacturers of audio/video, information technology and telecommunication products or industries have to ensure that electromagnetic disturbances are minimised, while having to manage product quality, costs and time to market. Since the need for reliability differs among equipment and EMC standards have been evolving over the years, some changes are minor while others replace the old standards entirely. Keeping up with all these changes and timelines for implementation of new standards, can be tough for manufacturers. TÜV SÜD is organising this workshop to provide you with an overview on the following areas: Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and Official Journal (OJ) updates Radio Equipment EMC and Radio requirements updates FCC Equipment Authorization Processes updates (ET Docket No. 15-170) 02
