Oceanic Observatory for the Iberian Shelf B.Vila Barcelona, 26th September 2016
Objectives: The Project Improve the oceanic observation at the North Western Iberian coast (meteorological, oceanographical and water quality data) Improve operational forecasting models Establish a platform of cross-frontier interoperability for the management and distribution of the data Develop new technologies to build, complete and consolidate the observatory Prepare specific tools to end-users Interreg IV-A (2009-2011-2013) Galicia North of Portugal http://www.marnaraia.org

RAIA Spatial Data Infrastructure Aims: Bridge the gap between the GIS and the EOS (Earth and Ocean Science) communities Create a Maritime Data and Service Infrastructure composed of several geographically distributed nodes How: Create a federated distributed architecture (no central node) Adherence to INSPIRE directive
Marine SDI Organization Several Layers: Layer of sensors: near real-time data, campaign data, etc. Layer of data sources Layer of services: standard interfaces used to find and serve data Layer of clients: SW to find, query and portrait data
