A note about the use of subjects in Discover! Thesaurus terms are descriptive terms applied by EBSCO, and may also include Library of Congress terms. Thesaurus terms describe what a source is about and may also appear in the source. Thesaurus terms are marked by an asterisk within the detailed record of a source. Major Heading terms are descriptive terms from CINAHL and MEDLINE, for example, which both have unique thesauri. Subject terms are pulled from terms listed within a source (article, book, report, etc.). These are Library of Congress terms but may also include EBSCO terms. Select and update any of the subjects above to refine your initial search results. 5
IV. Add Additional Resources The Add Additional Resources column on the right contains content from sources not partnered with EBSCO. Mouseover each hyperlink to see the number of results each source has retrieved. Click on a single hyperlink to retrieve only those results from that resource. OR, select multiple resources using the check boxes and update your results. EBSCO will remove any duplicate records that are generated when additional resources are added to a search. Other items that will appear in the Additional Resources and Related Information column include Related Images, Library Research Guides, and other widgets that may be added in the future. 6
