Click the folder symbol next to the relevant articles 2. Click on the Folder icon at the top of the screen 3. Click on Export on the right hand side. 4. Select Direct Export to Refworks.
2 5. Click on Save. Library Catalogue 1. Click on the hyperlinked title of the resource you want to import. 2. You can now see the bibliographical information. 3. Click on the quotation mark symbol,, under the heading Additional actions, which is underneath the Place a Hold box. 4. If prompted to click on one out of two versions of RefWorks, click on the 5. RefWorks should open and import the citation. Google Scholar 1. Go to the Settings icon at the top of the page. 2. Find the Bibliography manager at the bottom of the screen. 3. Adjust the options by clicking on the Show links to import citations into RefWorks option and select RefWorks from the drop-down menu. 4. Click on Save. 5. Now run a search on Google Scholar. 6. Click on the Import into RefWorks link at the bottom of the result you want to import. 7. If prompted to click on one out of two versions of RefWorks, click on the 8. 3 3. In the dialogue box that now opens, click download at the bottom and save the file. 4. Go to RefWorks and sign in. 5. In RefWorks click on the + symbol at the top of the screen and then click on 6. You can now either drag and drop the file into RefWorks or you can click on select a file from your computer and then select the file you have just saved. 7. In the next dialogue box, leave the default format and click import. 8. RefWorks should import the citations. Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews 2. Choose Export selected from the menu above the search results 3. Next to Export type choose your system (unless you are using a Mac or Linux, leave this at PC) 4. Next to File type select either citation only or citation and abstract and click Export Citation 5. Save the file (It will automatically download in Google Chrome). 6. Go to Refworks and sign in. 7. In RefWorks click on the + symbol at the top of the screen and then click on 8. You can now either drag and drop the file into RefWorks or you can click on select a file from your computer and then select the file from your downloads. 9. Type Cochrane Library into the search box on the next screen. 10. Click on Cochrane Library underneath the search box when it comes up. 11. Click on Import. Note: If you have accessed Cochrane through Wiley, choose Wiley InterScience for the Database. EBSCO (Academic Search Complete, CINAHL, Medline, Business Source Complete, SocIndex, PsycINFO etc.) 1. Click the folder symbol next to the relevant articles 2. Click on Folder view on the right-hand side or scroll to the very top of the page and click on Folder from the top menu 3. Select the articles you wish to export 4. Select Export from the right-hand side of the page Page 3
4 5. Choose Direct Export to RefWorks, then click Save Emerald 2. Next to For selected items click on the drop down arrow and select Download citation. 3. Next to Format, select Refworks 4. Click on Download article citation data 5. Click on Submit data to Refworks IEEExplore digital library 2. Click on Export from the menu above the results. 3. On the drop-down menu select the Citations tab. 4. Click on the RefWorks option. 5. Click on Export at the bottom of the dialogue box. OnePetro 2. Click on Export marked citations from the menu above the results 3. Next to Export to, click on Reference manager (RIS) 4. The file will now be downloaded. 5. Go to Refworks and sign in. 6. In RefWorks click on the + symbol at the top of the screen and then click on Page 4
5 7. You can now either drag and drop the file into RefWorks or you can click on select a file from your computer and then select the file from your downloads. 8. In the next dialogue box, leave the default format and click import. 9. RefWorks should import the citations. Proquest Newspapers (now called European Newsstream ). 2. Click on Save. 3. In the dialogue box, select the option for RefWorks under the Export/Save heading. 4. Select the appropriate contents and click on Continue. 5. If prompted to click on one out of two versions of RefWorks, click on the 6. Refworks should open and import the citations. Sage Note: Articles must be exported individually. For article results that have an abstract icon under their bibliographical details: 1. Click on the abstract icon or the title of the article you want to export. 2. Click on Cite on the right-hand side. 3. In the dialogue box that opens, go to the drop-down menu at the bottom and select RefWorks. 4. Click on Download Citation at the very bottom of the dialogue box. 5. Click on Submit data to RefWorks. For article results that do not have an abstract icon under the bibliographical details: 1. Click on the + symbol at the top left hand corner of the RefWorks screen when you are logged in. 2. Then click on create new reference. 3. Copy and paste the title of the article you want to import into the title field on the form that is now open and click on the flash symbol to the right of the line. 4. The article details should now come up. Click on them and the fields on the form are populated as a result. Page 5
6 5. Click Save. 6. The citation will now appear amongst your other results on RefWorks. ScienceDirect 2. Select Export, then Save to RefWorks. 3. If prompted to click on one out of two versions of RefWorks, click on the 4. Refworks should open and import the citations. Scopus 2.
