This two hour webinar will address microbiological concepts and techniques that personnel with little or no knowledge in microbiology have to deal with when microbial contaminations occurs and failures need to be investigated. This training will help create awareness about cleanroom management, behavior in cleanrooms and managing personnel working the cleanroom environment. When? This 2 hour course will include: October 8 th, 2013 Introducing non-microbiologists who work in cleanrooms and those involved in review of data and product failure investigations to cleanroom concepts Types and quantities of microbial contaminants that can be introduced into cleanrooms o Human borne o Soil borne if gowning is not adequate o Generated within the cleanroom if cleanroom not maintained Consequences of bacterial or fungal contamination in product o Non sterile bioburden products o Terminally sterilized product o Aseptically produced products Understand contamination control techniques used to control microbial contamination Understand why microbiologists monitor cleanrooms and test product that is made in the clean environment Understand the effects of microbial contamination when cleanroom protocols are not followed Who will be teaching? Ziva Abraham has over 25 years of academic, research, clinical and industrial experience in Microbiology, and Quality Assurance. She has trained personnel from various industries in microbiology techniques and methods. Ziva received her Master s Degree in Microbiology and has conducted graduate work on developing Microbial Insecticides. She has established clinical laboratory systems in Israel, and is involved in expanding Your Horizons, a program through the Math and Science Network to educate young girls about careers in science. She uses her hands on experience in varied fields to teach why assessing risk of microbial contamination should be in the forefront of any company that has products for human/veterinary use or to diagnose disease in humans and/or animals. Her experience in clinical laboratories has provided her with the framework to understand the effects of microbial contamination in products from a patient safety perspective. Ziva is a seasoned mycologist, and is known for her trainings in fungal Identification and investigating mold contaminations.
