Introduction As a MindTap user, confirm that your computer has the right browser, plug-ins and other settings to support optimal use. Cengage Learning has created this document to make it easier for you to check your system settings to make sure you can run MindTap. You do not have to read this entire document. When you need to find information, use the Table of Contents to go to the section that answers your question and follow the steps for the operating system or browser you use. IMPORTANT: If you are using MindTap in a computer lab, you may not have privileges to change any settings. Contact your instructor or lab administrator if you have any questions. Using System Check System Check is accessible from MindTap and automatically checks your browser version, JavaScript, cookies, Flash and popups to confirm they meet MindTap system requirements. Follow these steps to launch the system check: Step 1 Click the expand (triangle) icon next to your username in the upper right corner of the MindTap screen. Select System Check from the drop-down menu. Result: System Check page displays. 2 Make any necessary updates to your system and click the System Check link again to confirm the changes you made updating browsers and enabling JavaScript, cookies (including allowing third-party cookies), Flash or popups. Browsers MindTap is browser-based and runs on a variety of browsers. Supported browsers include the latest and previous versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari depending on the operating system. When newer versions of a browser are released, MindTap no longer supports the oldest version. MindTap supports the following Internet browsers on the operating systems listed. Enabling Cookies on your Browser Cookies are files that store browsing information. Websites create cookies when you visit them. MindTap requires you to have cookies enabled on your browser, which is a default setting on your browser. However, you should confirm that cookies are enabled.
