Surrounding Density and Diverse Uses LT Surrounding Density and Diverse Uses Select options to assess: Select the options to assess for this credit. Only one option can be selected if the rating system is set to Healthcare. Option 1. Surrounding Density: Unless the rating system is set to Warehouses and Distribution Centres, use this section if assessing option 1. Draw site boundary: Draw the site boundary for the project. If the project site isn t contiguous then multiple boundaries can be drawn. This dialog can also be opened from the toolbar: OSM Viewer: Use this dialog to calculate urban density. Begin by importing surrounding geometry using the import dialog: Place the map marker at the map location to import and press Save and Import to begin the import process. Once completed use the viewer to add any missing storey data: LEED-USA v4 Navigator 1

Next click Calculate Urban Density to get the combined density value. Finally, when ready, click OK to confirm the results. Healthcare only Rural Healthcare campus dialog: Use this if the project is a previously developed existing rural healthcare campus site. Option 2. Diverse Uses: Unless the rating system is set to Warehouses and Distribution Centres, use this section if assessing option 2. Map Workflow: 1. Centre map at building entrance 2. Set guide radii to help user only 3. Place icons for use nodes or optionally use Find Nearby Uses button 4. Use pedometer tool to draw walking routes to feature markers delete unused markers using Clear Unused Markers button 5. When complete, credit is checked against number and type of icons with entered walking routes within the eligible distance Place diverse uses features on our interactive map in order to assess Option 2. LEED-USA v4 Navigator 2

To navigate around the map, use the following basic map features: - On-screen + and - buttons zoom in and out (this can also be done by double-clicking the map, using the mouse wheel or by pressing the + and keyboard keys). - Pan around the map using your mouse (press mouse button down, move mouse, release button) or the arrow keys on your keyboard. - A scale indicator on the map can be used to assess distances. Additional functionality is available in the side-bar: - The search box allows you to search for a city or location. The Clear button removes the search results from the map. - Two Radius Circles are available to help you judge distance from site. They can be toggled on/off using the checkboxes and their radii can be customised by changing the numbers in the text fields. The radius circles are centred on your Site Location marker. By default, the site location will be used from ApLocate, but you can move it by dragging it to your exact location, or you can use the Feature Markers to select a new site location (only one site location allowed, placing a new one will automatically delete the previous location marker.) Note that you can toggle the display of the Site Location marker on and off using the appropriate checkbox. This stops the marker from interfering with placing markers or pedometer routes. - Use the Place feature markers selector to indicate those Diverse Uses facilities that meet the LEED requirements. Selecting a Feature Marker from the list will change your mouse cursor to the appropriate marker. Clicking on the map places a marker (there is no limit to the number of uses markers that you can place, but only one Site Location marker is allowed). Select the None feature marker to stop placing markers. A Feature Marker that is shown on the map can be moved by dragging it to its new location. - The Find Nearby Uses button searches an online database of uses close to your site location and places LEED-USA v4 Navigator 3

them on the map - The Clear Unused Markers button deletes all feature markers on the map without an attached pedometer route - The pedometer feature allows you to measure the distance of walking paths. You can draw multiple routes. Click on a route to see a menu that shows the distance it covers or to delete it. - The Save Image button captures the current map view. This image will be used within the credit documentation generated by the VE. The image is located in your project folder under the filename opt2.png. - The Zoom to Site button resets the map to your Site Location marker. - OK will close the map and store your changes / feature markers. Cancel (or the close button at the top of the window) closes the map without saving your changes. Option 1. Development and Adjacency: If the rating system is set to Warehouses and Distribution Centres, use this section if assessing option 1.
