Cencon Integration Cencon integration is a licensed feature that enables you to monitor and manage Cencon locks from within Protege GX. This integration allows you to manage Cencon users, create logical Lock Groups, view a Cencon lock's status and monitor Cencon events. i A Cencon license must be purchased for each individual lock. This integration does not support the creation of Cencon branches within Protege GX. Only one Cencon branch can be managed from within Protege GX. Only Bank Mode User operations are supported. Events from keys operating in FLM or Route mode will be displayed with key serial numbers only This document covers programming that is relevant to Protege GX. For further information, consult the following documentation: Cencon Getting Started Guide Centran Getting Started Guide Centran Agent Getting Started Guide Centran Keybox Getting Started Guide These documents are available from the Kaba Mas (http://www.kaba-mas.com/kaba-brand/documentation/518774/installation-operation.html) website. Version compatibility The following software and firmware versions or higher are required for this integration: Software Protege GX Software 3.2.69.6 Cencon 5.1.0.3494 CenTran 5.1.0.3494 CenTran Agent 5.1.0.3494 CenTran Keybox Agent 5.1.0.3494 Firmware Cencon Gen 2 Deadbolt Lock 2.2.1107 Cencon Gen 2 Swingbolt Lock 2.2.1107 4 AN-160 Configuring Cencon Integration Application Note Publication Date: September 2014

System Layout Traditionally, each Cencon lock will be assigned to a branch within the Cencon database, however, when integrated with Protege GX, there is no need to manage multiple branches. Integrating with Protege GX allows unlimited branches to be managed as lock groups that can be assigned to users individually or through access levels. Single Cencon locks can also be added to users and access levels. The example below shows Cencon locks added to two lock groups and two access levels.the lock groups have been used to separate the Cencon locks that operate in Branch 1 from the locks that operate in Branch 2 and the access levels have been used to assign access to certain staff members. Branch 1 Access Level Branch 1 Staff Branch 1 GX Lock Group Branch 1 Manager Cencon Protege GX Workstation Regional Manager CenTran Protege GX Server Cencon Locks Branch 2 GX Lock Group Branch 2 Access Level Branch 2 Staff Branch 2 Manager Using lock groups and access levels This example shows individual Cencon locks added to an access level that is assigned to some users. This setup is best used when you want to add an individual lock to an access level that does not belong to the lock group you want to assign to a user. Cencon Branch 1 ATM Lock 1 Branch 1 ATM Lock 2 Branch 1 Access Level Branch 1 Staff CenTran Protege GX Server Protege GX Workstation Branch 1 Vault Lock 1 Branch 1 Vault Lock 2 Cencon Locks Branch 1 Manager Individual locks assigned to an access level If you don't want to change any of the settings applied in an access level, Cencon lock groups can also be added to individual users. Branch 1 GX Lock Group Cencon Protege GX Server Protege GX Workstation Regional Manager CenTran Cencon Locks Branch 2 GX Lock Group Lock groups assigned to an individual user AN-160 Configuring Cencon Integration Application Note Publication Date: September 2014 5

In addition to this, Cencon locks can be assigned directly to a user without a lock group or access level. Configuring the Cencon Connection 1. To configure the integration, navigate to Global Sites and select the Cencon tab. 2. Select the Enable Cencon Integration option 3. Enter a CenTran Input Transaction Path. This is where GX will send all outgoing transactions. 4. Enter a CenTran Output Transaction Path. This is where GX will receive the results of all incoming transactions. For the Cencon integration to function correctly, ensure that there are no access restrictions applied to either of these directories and that they can be accessed freely by the Protege GX and CenTran services. 5. Enter the Dispatcher ID. This is required for Cencon to function, however, if the default Dispatcher ID is being used, it does not need to be entered into GX. 6. Enter the name of the Branch that GX will be managing. 7. Enter a value for the Cencon Command Timeout (Seconds) This is how long GX will wait for a response from Cencon after sending a transaction file. The default value should not be changed unless advised by ICT Technical Support. 8. Enter a value for the Cencon Synchronization Interval (Minutes). This is how often a synchronization between GX and Cencon will occur. The default value should not be changed unless advised by ICT Technical Support. 9. If you want all Cencon transaction to be logged in GX, select the Log All Cencon Transaction option. If this option is disabled, only error transactions will be logged. This option should be disabled unless instructed otherwise by ICT Technical Support. 10. Click Synchronize. 11. Click Save. Key Box Setup Before any users can be assigned lock access, a key box needs to be assigned to a workstation. Before attempting to assign a key box to a workstation, ensure that the key box is connected via USB to the workstation and that the keybox is visible in the Centran Configuration Manager client's list. 1. Navigate to Events Workstations. 2. Select the workstation that the key box is connected to. 3. Using the CenTran Keybox Agent, locate and note the key box's ID. 4. From the Cencon Key Box section, enter the Key Box ID 5. Click Save. Cencon Locks This integration does not require the programming of the Cencon locks from within GX. All locks assigned to the branch will be automatically added into GX during synchronization. Due to Cencon system requirements, each lock used in the integration must be initialized with two default Cencon Bank Mode users from within the Cencon interface. These users must have the following attributes: User ID: Default User One and Default User Two. Bank User ID: 9999999999 and 9999999998 These users should then be added to every new lock at the time of installation / initialization. They will be ignored by the integration. 8 AN-160 Configuring Cencon Integration Application Note Publication Date: September 2014

Cencon Lock Groups Cencon Lock Groups allow you to place Cencon locks into logical groups based on user access. Example: Consider 2 ATM locks and 2 vault locks at Branch 1 and only a branch manager is able to access all 4. These locks can be split into 2 groups, a vault lock group and an ATM lock group. All users at Branch 1 would be assigned the Branch 1 - Vault Lock Group, with the branch manager additionally being assigned the Branch 1 - ATM Lock Group. 1. To create a Cencon lock group, navigate to Cencon Cencon Lock Groups and click Add. 2. Enter a Name for the group. 3. Enable the Include All Locks option to add all of the locks to the group. 4. To add individual locks to the group click Add from the Cencon Locks section. AN-160 Configuring Cencon Integration Application Note Publication Date: September 2014 9

5. Select the locks that belong to this group. 6. Click Ok. 7. Click Save. Managing Cencon Locks within Protege GX Only users that are added into GX after Cencon integration has been enabled will be synchronized with the Cencon Database and key initialization. 1. To create a new Cencon user, navigate to Users Users and click Add. 2. Enter a Name for the user 3. From the Card Numbers section, enter or generate a six digit PIN. PINs must be six digits in order to comply with the Cencon database requirements. 4. Click Save 10 AN-160 Configuring Cencon Integration Application Note Publication Date: September 2014

Lost/Disabled Key If a Cencon user loses their key or their key needs to be disabled to restrict access, the key can be removed from within GX. 1. Navigate to Users Users and select the user that needs their key disabled. 2. From the Cencon Key section, click Disable Key. Selecting this causes GX to initiate an immediate sync and request the user to be deleted from the Cencon database, and all relevant locks. If the removal is successful, the button will toggle back to Initialize Key. Deleting a User Deleting a user in GX causes GX to immediately request the user to also be deleted from the Cencon database and all relevant locks. Active/Inactive Users If a user record is disabled from within GX, GX will send a request to delete the user from the Cencon database and all relevant locks during the next synchronization. If a disabled user record is enabled within GX, GX will initiate an immediate synchronization and request that the user be re-added to the Cencon database and will result in a new key being required. Lock Status The status of the Cencon locks can be viewed from a GX status page using status lists. Creating a Status List 1. Navigate to Monitoring Setup Status Lists and click Add. 2.
