1 School of Construction and the Environment Program: Interior Design INTD 2260 Revit for Interior Design Start : 5 January 2016 End : 22 March 2016 Total Hours: 36 Total Weeks: 12 Term/Level: Winter Course Credits: 3.0 Hours/Week: 3 Lecture: 1+ Lab: 2- Shop: 0 Seminar: 0 Other: 0 Prerequisites is a Prerequisite for: INTD 1150 Visual Communication 2D and INTD 2360 Residential Construction Drawings or Previous experience preparing construction drawings for Interior Design projects The ability to create interior design drawings based on conceptual sketches Previous experience with CAD in a Microsoft Windows environment Course Description This course covers the basics of Autodesk Revit in an interior design environment, from design through construction documentation. Students will be introduced to the tools and concepts of working with a fully parametric building model. At completion of the course, the student will draft construction drawings and basic visualizations of a small commercial project. Delivery of the course will concentrate on real world approaches and methodology rather than step by step procedures. Each session will define the concept/tools to be covered, provide examples and explanation of those concepts and then provide exercises for students to work through to explore and apply the concepts/tools.
