2 ESET Inventory Creator provides simple way to get data about HW and SW installed on managed workstations and servers. Collected CSV data are further imported and transformed by means of EIC Reporting Tool to pivot tables and graphs.

3 Installation To launch the installer wizard, do one of the following: 1. If you are installing from a CD/DVD, insert the CD/DVD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive. If the autorun menu does not appear automatically, double-click your CD/DVD drive to open it manually.

4 2. Next, the End-User License Agreement will be displayed. Please read the agreement and click Accept to acknowledge your acceptance of the End-User License Agreement. After you accept, installation will continue.

5 3. Select necessary type of installation All components will install both tools EIC and reporting tool for Microsoft Excel. Requires Excel installed. Only EIC tool will install only EIC tool, typically on the server with ERAS. Only EIC reporting tool will install reporting tool for Microsoft Excel, typically on computer with Excel installed.

6 4. Option to create desktop icons Default value is not checked and is also used during the silent install.

7 4. Completing the installation When all necessary parameters have been configured, start the final installation by clicking Install. Installation progress will be indicated by a progress bar. After installation is complete, ESET Inventory Creator icon appears on desktop, if you checked this option. Finally you are prompted to launch ESET Inventory Creator program.

8 EIC user interface Top of the Main window informs you about the presence of ERA server and Access database. Export section The output directory edit box offer a default export directory where the CSV files will be placed and of course a possibility to change it. The Options check box group allows you to select the type of data export. At the moment only CSV is available. The Sections check box group determines which kind of information will be collected from SysInspector logs. o DISK_INFO information about disks o SW_INFO information about installed software o OS-HW_INFO information about OS and hardware The Export button starts on-demand (interactive mode) creation of inventory files. If there is no already stored SysInspector data then error message is displayed. Application log This box serves as place where all operational messages are shown.

9 Scheduler section The Request SysInspector information check box enables or disables an automatic task which sends to ERAS a signal to ask all managed endpoints to send SysInspector data. The Request only now button sends (interactive mode) to ERAS a signal to ask all managed endpoints to send SysInspector data. The Enable automatic export check box creates or removes an automatic inventory export task into system Task scheduler. The Intervals check box group defines a period for tasks above. The Help menu The Samples menu allows you to show sample pivot table based on CSV data. You have to have installed some application capable to display XLSX file. The About shows basic info about application itself.
