1 HMI Allen Bradley DF1 Serial ActiveX Driver for SLC500, PLC5, and *Logix Properties: Control_Enabled: Boolean/Read/Write.Control_Enabled = False disables the DLL from responding to user generated events.control_enabled = True allows the DLL to respond to user generated events The default is enabled. Control_FireDoneOnError: Boolean/Read/Write If this property is set to True then the Done event will be fired even if there is an error in the current transaction with the PLC. If set to False, the Done event will not be fired when an error occurs. Control_IsBusy: Boolean/Read only. If.Control_IsBusy = True then the DLL is not done with the current transaction, if False then the DLL is ready for another transaction. Control_NodeAddress: This property allows you to set the Data Highway address of the DLL on a Data Highway network. Control_OutcomeString: String/Read Only This property returns a text message with the result of the last.control_update method call after the Done event has fired. Control_OutcomeValue: Long/Read Only Returns a number indicating the result of the last.control_update method call after the Done event has fired. Properties may be i ncorrect Control_PLCAddress: Use this property to set the Data Highway address of the device you wish to communicate with. Control_PLCType: enuplctype/read/write Set this property to the PLC type you are trying to connect to. enuplctype has the following possible values: 0 PLC5 1 SLC500 2 PLC250 3 PLC2 4 SLC3 Control_ResponseTimeout: Sets this time in milliseconds for the DLL to wait for a response from the PLC.Control_ResponseTimeout = 2000 sets the DLL to wait 2 seconds for a response from the PLC after the.control_update method is called. Control_ResponseTimer: Integer/Read only Returns the time in milliseconds for a response from the PLC for the current transaction after the.control_update method is called. Control_UpdateInterval: Setting.Control_UpdateInterval to a value other than 0 causes the DLL to automatically call the.control_update method to poll the PLC. The polling interval is equal to the value specified in milliseconds. Setting.Control_UpdateInterval = 0 stops polling of the PLC. The value specified is in milliseconds. Memory_BitOffset: This property is used in conjunction with the.memory_functions SetBit and ClearBit to specify the bit offset within the specified word. Valid values are from 0 to 15.

3 Using.Memory_Function = SetBit on word N7:1 and.memory_bitoffset = 2 will cause bit 2 of word N7:1 to be set when the.control_update method is called. Note: SetBit and ClearBit do not work with *Logix PLCs. Memory_DataFloat: Single/Read/Write This property is used to read or write floating point values to/from the PLC. When.Memory_Type is set to F_float then.memory_datafloat(10) = will write the floating point value to the 10th element of the.memory_datafloat array which corresponds to.memory_dataint elements 20 and 21. For all other.memory_type.memory_datafloat(10) = will write the floating point value to the 10th element of the.memory_datafloat array which corresponds to.memory_dataint elements 10 and 11. Serial_RTSOffDelay: Long/Read/Write This property sets the delay time in milliseconds after sending a message to the PLC before the RTS line is cleared. Serial_RTSOnDelay: Long/Read/Write This property sets the delay time in milliseconds to wait before sending a message to the PLC after the RTS line goes high. Serial_StopBits: enuserialstopbits/read/write This property set the number of stop bits to use in serial communication. 0 sb_1 1 stop bit 1 sb_1_5 1.5 stop bits 2 sb_2 2 stop bits Serial_OpenComPort: Calling this method will cause the DLL to attempt to open the specified serial com port. Control_Update: Calling this method will cause the DLL to read or write from the PLC. When then transaction is complete the Done event will fire with the results of the current transaction with the PLC. Done Event: This event is fired when a successful transaction with the PLC has occurred after calling

8 .Control_Update. When this event fires after a read from the PLC the.memory_dataint,.memory_datalong,.memory_datafloat, and.memory_datastring arrays contain the data read from the PLC. ErrorMsg Event: When used in conjunction with the.control_useadvancederrorreporting property, the ErrorMsg event will return a string with information about the current status of the transaction with the PLC. OnError Event: This event is fired when an error has occurred with the current transaction with the PLC. The properties.control_outcomevalue and.control_outcome_string will contain information about the current error.
