7 Question 3. [20 marks] The UTSC Marathon uses a lottery system to decide whether an applicant is allowed to participate. A runner is allowed to race if they win that year s lottery, or if they qualify based on the time in a previous race. The cutoffs are given below (if their time is below the given time for their category, they are automatically allowed entry). Men: 3 hours, Women: 2.3 hours, Under 18 years old: 3.5 hours, Over 60 years old: 3.7 hours No one under 15 or over 80 may participate regardless of lottery status or previous times (insurance reasons).
