2 Mobius Institute Board of Certification You are being certified by Mobius Institute Board of Certification (MIBoC) You are not ISO Certified and this is not an ISO Course No organization in the world can say the student is ISO Certified You are not ASNT certified. ASNT only certify Level III students. You can be certified under Mobius Institute s Written Practice that follows SNT-TC-1A if your company also has a written practice and we are included to that written practice.

3 Examination process You MUST be registered on the MMS (formerly the TMS) We must have complete contact details We will need to contact you to deliver exam results by Each year MIBoC will contact you to insure you are still active in vibration analysis We need to contact you regarding re-certification We are required to maintain a database of certified analysts We must have the text of the name to be displayed on the certificate You must record your education and experience

4 Taking the exam You are required to sign a declaration to confirm that: You have accurately described your previous education and experience You will follow the MIBoC code of ethics The invigilator must see your photo ID to verify your identity.

5 Taking the exam You will have an exam assigned to you. The number on the exam document will be your certification ID number. That number will be recorded by the invigilator (the person administering the exam). Do not open the exam until instructed.

6 Taking the exam You must sign the Candidate sign-in sheet to: Verify that all of the information you have provided in the MMS is true and accurate. Verify that you have been given the exam with the same ID number as listed on the sheet. Verify that the envelope assigned to you has not been previously opened (check the seal).

8 Exam questions and duration Category I: 50 questions 2 hours Category II: 100 questions 3 hours Category III: 100 questions 4 hours

9 Taking the exam During the exam you may use a calculator. It may not be a mobile-phone, PDA or other device that is capable of storing images and text. Devices that translate text may be used if approved by the invigilator first. You may take toilet breaks You will not be credited with that time. Please check with the invigilator before you leave the room. You may not access any documents or sheets of paper (for notes/calculations) other than those provided in the exam envelope.

11 Taking the exam You may indicate your answer as follows: Place an X in the corresponding box, or Color-in the box, or Place a circle around the box All of these methods are acceptable choose the one that suits you the most.

12 Taking the exam If you make a mistake and wish to change your answer, place a large X through the incorrect option and x /color/circle the correct answer. You can change your answer multiple times. If in doubt, write your final answer at the end of the row. Please initial the changes you make.

14 At the conclusion of the exam: Place ALL documents (including exam book, note sheet, answer sheet, formula sheet and code of ethics sheet) into the envelope that is supplied (inside the exam envelope). You may not take any documents away with you.

15 At the conclusion of the exam: Seal the envelope. Sign your name across the seal. Hand the envelope to the invigilator (person monitoring the exam).

16 Tips for taking the exam It is not a race. Don t rush. Take your time. Take a deep breath there is enough time to complete the exam. Our experience: Some people take pride in finishing first in many cases they will make silly mistakes.

17 Tips for taking the exam Read the question and all of the options carefully. A few questions may be of the form Which method is incorrect. If you miss the word incorrect and read the first option (which will may appear to be correct), you may accept that answer but if you read the other three options you would see that two other statements are also correct.

18 Tips for taking the exam Write your answers in the examination booklet. Complete the answer sheet after answering all questions. You can circle the correct answer in the exam booklet, and then complete the answer sheet when you are happy with your answers. If the answer sheet was incorrectly completed, the examiner can look at the exam booklet for your correct answers.

19 Tips for taking the exam If you come across a particularly difficult question, mark it on the exam booklet and come back to it later. This practice helps to reduce stress and improve time management. You do not want to get stuck on a tough question. You are able to get 12 incorrect (Category I) or 25 incorrect (Category II and III) and still pass the exam.

20 Tips for taking the exam One option may be more correct than the other three options. Read all the options carefully and choose the best option. There will be one answer that is the best answer. There may be another answer which may appear to be correct.

21 Tips for taking the exam If you believe that more than one answer is correct, or that none of the answers are correct, or you feel the exam question is unclear, please write your comment in the exam booklet. The exam documents are reviewed and stored by MIBoC.

22 Tips for taking the exam If you wish to change your answer, cross it out and write a new answer. If you make many changes, just write the correct answer at the end of the row. Initial all changes. This is just a reminder. The exam is not read by a computer. A human will determine what you intended to be your final answer.

23 Feedback survey In the next week you will receive an asking you to complete a survey. The survey enables MIBoC and the training provider to improve their service. It is required as part of the ISO accreditation process and ISO 9001 quality control. Your comments and option selections will not influence your exam results.

28 If you pass and meet all other certification requirements You will receive a certificate approximately 3-4 weeks after you receive your results Your name will appear on the Mobius Institute Web site:

29 If you pass and comply You must keep your records up to date on our Training Management System We must maintain contact with you once per year to ensure you are still active (part of our required surveillance process). Re-certification: We will contact you by in five years. You need to provide evidence that you are still active with vibration analysis. If you cannot provide evidence, or we cannot contact you, you will have to take another exam to remain certified.

30 If you pass and do not comply If you do not meet ISO requirements (training experience or months of experience): We will issue you with a provisional certificate When you meet the requirements, contact Mobius Institute Board of Certification to complete the certification procedure

31 If you fail You must wait 30 days before you try again If you wish to take the exam again within 30 days you must provide evidence that you have undertaking additional study (e.g. read text books or study ilearnvibration)

34 Taking the exam Inside the envelope you will find: The exam question document You may write on this document A sheet for hand-writing notes and calculations The answer sheet A sheet of extra formulae The Code of Ethics agreement Please double-check that each document has the same exam ID number on it. Do not begin reading the exam booklet.

35 Taking the exam Please complete the information on the exam answer sheet: your name, etc. Please write in CAPITAL LETTERS as clearly as possible. Your hand-writing may not be easily understood by the examiner in Australia. Don t forget to sign the sheet. Please also sign the declaration Please read and sign the Code of Ethics Agreement Do not begin reading the exam booklet.

36 You may begin the exam now Category I: 2 hours Category II: 3 hours Category III: 4 hours When you complete the exam, place all of the documents that originally came in the examination envelope into the provided envelope. Seal the envelope and sign across the seal. If you finish early, please pack your things and leave quietly other people will be trying to concentrate and will become more anxious when they see people leaving.
