4 In 1958, Jacob Jensen established his studio in Copenhagen. He moved the studio to its present location, Hejlskov, in He was the first Dane to train as an industrial designer and is considered a pioneer in Danish corporate history. The founder of Jacob Jensen Design is particularly well known for the ground-breaking form language he developed for Bang & Olufsen. Jacob Jensen was responsible for 234 products including the award-winning, iconic Beolit 400, Beogram 4000, Beomaster 5000 and 1900 to mention a few. Even though Jacob Jensen s fame is primarily due to his B&O designs, he has designed several hundred other products for a wide range of clients. For instance, the Margrethe Bowl for Rosti Mepal, hearing aids for Danavox, Hi-Fi for General Electric, office chairs for Labofa, telephones for Alcatel-Kirk and cable drums for JoJo to name a few. Jacob Jensen has received countless rewards, medals and accolades through his long career as a designer. In 1949, he was awarded his first medal by HRH King Frederik IX of Denmark for which the young Jacob Jensen had submitted a chair. Later in life, he was knighted with the Knights Cross of the Order of Dannebrog (1996), included in the Foreign Ministry s list of Great Danes (1999), and in 2006 King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Sylvia awarded him the Prince Eugen Medal for outstanding artistic achievement. In 2008, he was awarded the lifelong honorary grant from the Danish Arts Foundation. Jacob Jensen has passed away in 2015 at the age of 89.

5 Timothy Jacob Jensen is the Chief Design Officer of Jacob Jensen Design. He was apprenticed to his father in 1978 and took over the responsibility of the design studio in Under Timothy s leadership, Jacob Jensen Design has remained a highly awarded design studio. Today, it is Scandinavia s oldest and most award-winning design consultancy. Jacob Jensen Design s top clients include Ecco, Gaggenau, B&O, LG, Panasonic, Toshiba, Vertu and Volvo. Today, Jacob Jensen Design has studios in Shanghai and Bangkok as well as in Hejlskov. As international keynote speaker and Professor of Industrial Design, Timothy Jacob Jensen has been giving tailor-made lectures and workshops for more than 15 years. In 2012, Timothy Jacob Jensen was appointed as the first master of DeTao Masters Academy, Shanghai, China, and in 2014 Jacob Jensen Design established its sister studio in Bangkok in collaboration with King Mongkut s University of Technology Thonburi. The first products to bear the JACOB JENSEN brand were two wristwatches designed by Timothy Jacob Jensen: the Classic series. They were included in the design collection at Museum of Modern Art in New York and were awarded Watch of the Year in Since the generation change in 1990, Timothy has emphasised the universal potential of the form language by expanding it to a wide range of lifestyle products. With its pure contrasts, simple effects and serene user interface, JACOB JENSEN is a design language pointing far into the future.
