7 Architectural Systems The beauty of lighting design flexibility With 11 luminaire styles to choose from, offering a variety of lamp configurations and a selection of uplight-downlight distributions, Architectural Systems is the ultimate lighting design tool box for the aesthetic integration of luminaires in a wide variety of applications. Most models are available in runs of varying lengths to meet your architectural requirements. Mounting options include pendant, wall and surface. Many high-output luminaire configurations are available to achieve wide luminaire spacing and create lighting concepts well within power allowances set by building energy codes and local regulators. 158

8 Architectural Systems A selection of shielding and optics Baffles and Louvers PL semispecular parabolic louvers SB white solid baffles Symmetric Reflectors Create just the right ambience by producing subtle variations in light distribution. Most luminaires in the Architectural Systems collection share the same light distribution capabilities and comprise field adjustable reflectors with varying perforation levels. This feature provides designers with multiple settings to adjust the mix of uplight and downlight. The quantity and positioning of these reflectors let you control the distribution of direct and indirect light. Reflector configurations are specified when ordering luminaires. They can also be added after installation. 3 down reflectors 3 up reflectors Asymmetric Reflectors The asymmetric reflector optic is designed to send more light to one side of the luminaire than the other, when viewed from the end. These reflectors are offered with the majority of Architectural Systems product line and can be used to highlight features in a space or direct light where it is needed

S satin lens P perforated SL slotted B blank VL Optic Used with several luminaires, the VL Optic diffuses a soft radiating light that fills a space without glare or harsh shadows. Unlike typical diffusers that scatter light, the VL Optic features precise, miniature prisms that direct light away from glare zones, with very high (92%) light transmission. Designed to mute the lamp image and eliminate hot spots, the VL Optic also helps you meet or exceed current lighting power density allowances established by ASHRAE and Title 24. (see page 17 for more information). VL vl optic A turn for the better Extend your lighting design possibilities and closely follow the architectural details of a space with unlit corners. Most luminaires in this product line can be specified with unlit corners, as well as T or X junctions. Corner modules for Architectural Systems feature an assembly of welded aluminum extrusions. Creating beautiful linear visual statements in long runs of pendants, Slim is equally aesthetic in wall-mounted versions with its asymmetric light distribution (60% up, 40% down). Its minimalist design is big on energy efficiency, with a footprint large enough to accept dimming ballasts, daylight sensors and battery packs required for energy-saving layouts. Slim with VL Optic TM is a requisite for proven glare control in downlight applications. It boasts efficiencies as high as 94% and power densities achievable to 0.42 watts per square foot in order to meet or exceed the sustainable design requirements of ASHRAE, New York City Building Code, Title 24 and other energy codes.
