The motor-operated camera shutter protects the lens from dirt and damage during the drive and gives a clear view of the rear at any time. The compact b/w camera excels with an extralarge picture angle of 145 and a 1/3" Sony CCD image sensor. For enhanced night-time vision, the infrared LEDs are fitted in a separate window, which avoids reflection. The temperature controlled heater prevents condensation build-up inside the camera and ensures fast image display on the screen when temperatures are low. 12 12 LCD reversing video systems Custom solutions for panel vans With special camera for brake light or roof mounting Many panel vans just don t have a suitable mounting surface for a camera on the rear. The obvious alternative is to fasten the camera on the roof, or to the original brake light. For either case the WAECO PerfectView range offers a convincing, aesthetically pleasing solution combined with with the 5" LCD monitor PerfectView M 5L. Our custom solution for VW Crafter and Mercedes Sprinter is based on the compact ball camera CAM 30CK, which is enclosed in a roof-mount housing that protrudes slightly over the vehicle rear. An angular adapter for universal installation on other vehicle models is included in the set. For Fiat Ducato X250 and its sister models Citroën Jumper and Peugeot Boxer we conceived the custom camera CAM 16BK. The small cylinder camera is enclosed in a console which is simply attached to the vehicle s original brake light. Its light-sensitive 150 wide-angle lens, combined with the 5" LCD monitor PerfectView M 5L, provides manœuvring safety at its best. Note: Both special cameras are also available as single components e.g. for connection to existing navigation systems. Order information on p. 29. Once exactly adjusted the camera s 120 wide-angle lens will optimally capture the area to the rear. The optical parameters of the CAM 30CK (LDR-controlled infrared LEDs, electronic brightness adjustment, 1/4"- CCD image sensor) make for excellent image quality. Especially so as it is combined with the 5" LCD monitor PerfectView M 5L features, which displays brilliant pictures thanks to its LED background illumination. 22 22 LCD reversing video systems Perfect close and long-range vision Reversing video systems with twin camera The WAECO PerfectView RVS 590 and RVS 790 revers ing video systems offer a double safety bonus. In reverse gear the monitor (5" or 7") provides an exact picture of the area closest behind the vehicle. When driving forwards, the system changes into distance mode: the monitor shows what is going on far behind the vehicle, just like an over-dimensioned rear-view mirror would. The technical conditions for the dual function are provided by the colour twin camera CAM 33C1. It features two separate camera modules a 140 wideangle lens for the area close behind the vehicle and a 40 lens for long-distance vision. The picture quality is much better than with competitors products using a wide-angle lens also in long-distance mode. A motor-operated shutter protects the camera from soiling.
