4 1 Product Introduction 1.1 General Information Etross GSM gateway(fwt) ET-8264 is an analogue GSM fixed wireless terminal, it has 8 ports(channels),every port has 2 GSM modules active simultaneously, every port has 8 SIMs, So there are totally 8 ports 16 GSM modules 64SIMs in one device. GSM gateway(fwt) ET-8264 is mainly designed to connect with FXO VoIP gateways to realize VoIP call terminations purpose, It incorporates the latest GSM technology with ARM processors to realize BTS rotation, SIM rotation, IMEI automatic generation and automatic rotation functions etc. It can effectively lower the carrier's(telecom operator) IMEI block, SIM block and BTS block, improve communication efficiency, obtain better economic benefit. 6 Front view Back View 1.6 Packing List GSM Gateway ET-8264 USB cable 3m cable antenna Power adapter cable User's manual 1 piece 1 piece 16 pieces 1 piece 1 piece 2 Installation 2.1 Installation Steps 1) Install the Gateway in a suitable place. 2) Turn off the power at the back of the unit. 3) Install valid SIM card. 4) Connect the antenna into the SMA connector. 5) Plug the 220v socket and connect the other end to the power socket at the back of the gateway. 6) Turn on the power at the back of the Gateway 7) Connect RJ-11 socket to a normal telephone set. 8) Switch on the every channel to test it with a normal telephone set before you 6

7 connect to FXO VoIP gateways. 9) Connect RJ-11 socket to FXO VoIP gateway. 10) Connect the USB port to a computer or laptop for function setting. Outgoing call: 0.3 seconds on /0.3 seconds off 5. On talk: always on 1. LED light is Flashing when registering SIM card 2. LED light is on when SIM card is been using. 3. LED light is off when SIM card is not been using. LED light flashes, it means the errors happened, the flashing times represent the according times no. SIM card having problem, it reminds equipment administrator to check the SIM card. 2.3 State restore button function description When the error warning light flashes,the equipment administrator should check the corresponding SIM card and install again, then press this key to eliminate error indication, and at the same time, the corresponding SIM card's call time, call duration and other informations will be cleared. Note: If the error indication is not eliminated, the corresponding SIM card will not be to use. 3. Function setting 3.1 Operating Instructions This equipment uses hyper terminal console for management and control. For the setting of hyper terminal, Please refer to the "FWT management procedures hyper 8

9 terminal setting.doc" After starting the program will display the main menu, you can enter the numbers into the corresponding menu, and if you want to return to previous menu, Press +, until return to main menu. 3.2 Menu Description Main Menu 9

10 3.2.2 Call Management Menu Select "1" in the main menu, enter this "Call manage" menu 1. Call information -Display operating status, such as signal, the number of calls,cumulative call time, number of failures, balance etc. 2. Rotate setting -To set SIM rotation condition. SIM card rotation can be judged according to 4 conditions: 1) According to the SIM card using time. 2) According to the SIM card call time. 3) According to the number of call. 4) According to the continuous call failures. 3. Rotate manually -Manually jump to specified SIM card and make it as current use. 4. Restart GSM manually - Restart GSM module manually. 5. SIM card enable/disable -Ban / Open SIM card to be used, If a SIM card set to ban, will not be turn to it. For example, the 7 th port status as below: 10

11 From the call management menu, select 1, then select 7, you can see this window, repeatedly press 7 can refresh display. Explanations (The red number and circled): 1 -- Represents current use GSM module 2, If any call,it will call out from GSM module Represents SIM card 5 is disabled, you can set up from SIM card enable/disable Menu Represents current use GSM 2 and call out from SIM card Represents total call failures: 3, Now continuous call failures: 2. 11

12 3.2.3 Billing Management Menu Select "2" from main Menu, enter this "Billing Manage" menu 1. Show charged&balance -show already charged and balance 2. Setup charged value -set up or add charged value 3. Show billing setting -show billing rate 4. Setup billing -set up billing rate 12

13 3.2.4 BTS Management Menu Select "3" from main Menu, enter this "BTS Manage" menu 1. Show base station --Display base station information, including the one being used and around 6 base stations code (FRFCN) and signal strength. 2. Jump to base station --Manually jump to specified base station 3. Base station roam --The base station roaming settings, the factory is set to 10 minutes automatic roaming(not recommended for customers to modify this setting). 4. Set blocked base station - --Set the base station to be shielded, If set a base station to be Shielded, base station roaming rotation will not be turned into it. For example: See the below base station state: 13

14 The circled 60, -49 represents as current use base station code is 60, with signal strength 49 And the others circled represents around the 6 base stations code and their signal strength. 14

15 3.2.5 IMEI Management Menu Select "4" in the main menu, enter this "IMEI manage" menu 1. Show IMEI -Can show IMEI 2. Change IMEI (manually) -IMEI changed by manually. 3. Change IMEI (auto generate) -IMEI auto generated randomly. 4. IMEI auto change setting We provide 3 options for IMEI change: 1) IMEI not change 2) Every rotary SIM card, the module IMEI will be changed to a different one. 3) 8 SIM cards are corresponding to 8 IMEI, IMEI and SIM card cycle at the same time, so IMEI can be used circularly. 15

16 3.2.6 SMS Management Menu Select "5" in the main menu, enter this "SMS manage" menu 1. Read SMS -You can read SMS 2. Send SMS - You can send SMS 3. Delete all SMS - You can delete all SMS 16

17 3.2.7 Miscellaneous Menu Select "6" in the main menu, enter this "Miscellaneous" menu 1. Set system date & time 2. Set dial interval 3. Set speaker volume 4. Set MIC sensitivity 5. Set hide caller id -To hide the outgoing caller ID (this function requires operator's support) 6. Set BAND -To set GSM frequency/band 7. Set failure alarm threshold -To set continuous call failure alarm threshold. 8. Set balance alarm -Balance out alarm 9. Reset factory - Restore to factory default setting. 17
