2 PRIMARY PURPOSE OF SATELLITE TRACKING SYSTEM FindMe Determination and transmission to any user exact LBS and GPS position of a stolen or lost vehicle, valuable cargo, expensive equipment. Positioning technologies in use: GPS (Global Positioning System), satellite positioning system provides a possibility to determine any target position and speed practically in any place of the Earth. The main operation principle of the systems is determination of position by measuring distance to the target from points with known positions i.e. satellites. Positioning accuracy is within 5-20 m. LBS (Location Based Services) is a technology which allows positioning using the nearest GSM-stations instead of satellite data. LBS positioning accuracy is slightly lower than GPS positioning. 9 SPECIFICATIONS OF FindMe BEACON AND THEIR FEATURES Li/SOCl 2 battery The battery installed in the GPS FindMe beacon has a capacity of 3600 mah and it provides stable and long-term operation of the device. In addition it is able to keep its charge in case of negative temperatures, and has a low percent of self-discharge - not more than 1% per year. 9

10 SPECIFICATIONS OF FindMe BEACON AND THEIR FEATURES Pre-installed thermo MTS SIM-card The specialized thermo SIM card provides a possibility to provide communication in case of very low temperatures. The installed SIM-card has active unit charge rate with GSM and GPRS traffic completely paid for the whole life time of the device. User is not employed with any subscriber and singe payment during the whole period of this device usage. Moisture-proof body The FindMe GPS beacon has a moisture-proof body which provides a possibility to install the device in the places with increased humidity: inside the bumper, under the splash board and etc. And it provides possibility to use the device for searching and returning stolen quadrocycles, snowmobiles, outboard motors, valuable cargos, special and expensive equipment (welding equipment, diesel installations, and compressors) and etc. 10

11 OPERATION PRINCIPLE OF FindMe GPS BEACON Device FindMe GPS beacon uses an interaction algorithm: Device - Server - Client All data from the device and the user pass through the secured server and are processed and stored during unlimited time. The apparent advantage of the above scheme is that you can view all history data and statistics related to your device in your personal area. If any malfunction of the device occurs, data will never be lost. All data are kept on the server. The FindMe GPS/GLONASS beacon does not store any information about a user. Server Client 11

12 OPERATION PRINCIPLE OF FindMe GPS BEACON FindMe doesn t have a possibility to accept commands from its user and the server in the online mode. FindMe is not designed to receive information «by request». All information including changes, operation mode change, new settings, etc. is received by FindMe only when it contacts the server. You can set frequency and time of contact at your own discretion. This principle of FindMe GPS beacon operation is in our view ideal and effective to the greatest possible extent as far as it allows to: 1. Save charge of power battery to provide instant readiness for accepting information from its user and server. 2. It enables the FindMe GPS/GLONASS beacon to be invisible for GSM scanners. In the period of no coordinate search, communication to the server and data transmission, the device does not emit any signals, so it is well hidden. 12

13 OPERATION PRINCIPLE OF FindMe GPS BEACON FindMe GPS beacon can operate in two modes: Standard mode Search mode Standard mode The device working in this mode is in the sleeping mode most of the time and it contacts with the server according to the schedule preset in the personal area. You can set this parameter in the range between 1 and 7 days (by default, one-contact per day). FindMe GPS beacon determines its (LBS) position, battery charge level, ambient temperature. Using (GPRS) mobile Internet, the beacon sends all data to the server, then requests the server for the next operation mode set by the user in his personal area. Upon saving the current settings, the device goes into sleeping mode until the following contact. 13

14 OPERATION PRINCIPLE OF FindMe GPS BEACON Tracking mode This mode is activated by the user in his personal area by sending a blank SMS text message to the common phone number: +7 (911) When information about tracking mode activation is received, the device contacts the server according to the schedule set in personal area. The setting range is between 15 minutes and 96 hours (by default once every 2 hours). FindMe GPS beacon determines its (GPS) position, battery charge level, ambient temperature, movement speed and direction. The device sends all data to the server and repeats them to the user by sending SMS text message (if this feature is enabled in personal area). After receiving the data from FindMe, you can view the device position on Yandex, Google, or OSM maps from any device including your mobile phone or tablet PC (if such functionality is available). 14

15 TURNING ON AND LOG ON OF FindMe GPS BEACON Developing FindMe GPS beacon, we tried to create the most practical and easy-to use device. 1 To turn on and log on your FindMe, you will have to follow just two simple steps: 1. Press and hold pressed the button «ACT», located on the device body, for 3 seconds 2. Send an empty SMS message or SMS message with a desired individual name (it will be assigned to the beacon) to the number specified on the back of the device. 2 15

SMS acknowledgement of logging-on on the server containing login and password to enter your personal area at After logging-on, the device will contact the server and receive standard schedule by default. 17 INSTALLATION OF FindMe GPS BEACON Please, take into consideration the following when installing your FindMe GPS beacon: never install FindMe near zones with increased temperatures never install it near movable parts of the vehicle never install the device with «FindMe» label faced towards metal elements Important Notice! With two or more FindMe F2 GPS beacons installed with different operation modes, chances of vehicle return dramatically increase. 17

19 INSTALLATION OF FindMe GPS BEACON During installation of FindMe beacon, it is recommended to press the «ACT» button of compulsory (urgent) contact which was used for switching on the device in the course of log on, placing the GPS beacon in the area where it is planned to be installed. It is required to perform this operation outdoors in order the quality of GSM and GPS signal is maximally approximate to real conditions and is not suppressed by building parts, hangar, garage structural elements and etc. After pressing «ACT» button, FindMe will be forced to make a contact (beyond the schedule), determine GSM signal level, GPS position, transmit data to the server and receive information about an actual operation mode. 19

20 INSTALLATION OF FindMe GPS BEACON It is further recommended to go to the tab «Monitoring» in a user personal account on the website 911.fm and ascertain the cellular signal strength. If the reception parameter is less than the threshold of 12 digits, it is recommended to consider another place of installation for your FindMe GPS beacon. If you don t have a possibility to use your personal area, wait for SMS text message coming to the phone from which you logged on. If the message includes information «accuracy 10m» - FindMe is installed at the allowed place. If the message includes information «accuracy 500 m» it is recommended to consider another place of installation for your FindMe GPS beacon. 20

21 FindMe GPS BEACON CONTROL AND SETTING When login and password are received, you can setup the device and view information about its operation and state in your personal area at If you have several FindMe GPS beacons which are logged on with the same phone number, they will be displayed in one personal area and can be individually selected. In your personal area you can use the following functionality: to change operation mode of the device to set intervals and time of FindMe communication contact to activate function of user SMS notifications to browse the device history about contacts with map referencing to receive full information about the device operation and state to change the device name, password to enter the system, your mobile phone number 21

22 SMS COMMANDS FOR CONTROLLING FindMe GPS BEACON When you cannot control operation modes of your FindMe GPS beacon in your personal area at you can control the device by sending SMS commands to common phone number +7 (911) SMS commands: to activate the search mode send a blank SMS message to the phone number +7 (911) to deactivate the search mode send an SMS message with the text «OFF» to the phone number +7 (911) to check the device state, send S SMS message to phone number +7 (911)

23 BATTERY OF FindMe GPS BEACON The main parameters of such devices are: maximum autonomous operation time of the device; guaranteed communication contact and transmission of GPS beacon position in emergency To ensure the above parameters, FindMe has a Li/SOCl 2 battery with total capacity of 3600 mah. Depending on the operation mode and conditions, this battery provides up to two years of safe operation of FindMe GPS beacon without its replacement. You need not monitor the battery charge level. When the threshold of charge level passes 50, 30, 20 and 10%, the server will inform you automatically by sending an SMS notification. 23

24 SET OF CONSUMABLES Service Kit If your battery charge level is low, you can contact with a service centre of official dealer at your will to replace the battery. Visiting the service centre for replacement of the battery you will be provided with a Service Kit which includes: new battery new body sealing materials prolongation card of GSM, GPRS and SMS traffic for the whole following period of FindMe GPS beacon. In reality, after replacement of the Service Kit you will receive the device with the same technical parameters as the FindMe GPS beacon you bought initially with saving of all history in the personal area. 24
