4 UHD the key to success of DVB-T2 with HEVC? The time period for development of fundamentally new product features usually last from the first idea to market 2 years. (Hardware development, new circuit layout, new software, certification, testing,...) In the case of DVB-T2 LG managed this in one year.. But only by the fortunate fact that: LG introduced already 3 years ago the first UHD televisions with HEVC support. Main-Chipset performance increased from Dual-Core to Quad-Core Graphic-Chipset performance & memory even doubled within the same time DVB-T2 in its current test operation is based on established, solid standards. Most UHD TVs are equipped at the present time with a HEVC decoder already. LG could enable all UHD SmartTVs with webos by activate a new operating software, which was published and rolled out at the end of This SW-Update enabled all LG webos UHD-TVs to receive the HEVC encrypted broadcast signals via DVB-T / T2 and DVB-S / S2.
