2 The Main Menu This is the main menu when you first access the wall. The buttons will resize dependent on the users proximity to the wall. The user has the choice of access audio, video media, online chat, phone, weather, traffic, news, calendar, bulletins, or settings. The bottom of the screen, there is a Location menu where you can slide the wall from room to room. The return arrow allows the user to return to the main desktop.

There is a capability to browse online, USB, or CD player by pressing the tabs on the side. o The next screen would slide over. The songs could be transferred to other rooms. o The user can select where the song would be played, either in all rooms, or the rooms of their choice. o The user selects by pushing down on the rounded buttons. The rounded buttons indicate it is push-able.

4 Video Media Inside the video media application, the first screen the user will see is the Video screen. From there the user can choose to either watch media from the DVD player, hard drive, or online. Once the user clicks, another screen will open accordingly as shown in DVD and youtube.

By pressing the colored bar for family, friends, all, the list will slide up to show the full list or return to its normal state. The user will have the options of accepting, rejecting, transferring the call using a button. The user will also be able to downgrade the call from a video to voice or text, also using a button.

7 Weather The weather application pulls up a forecast for the zip code that has been preset during initial set up. The forecast is displayed for 7 days with highs and lows. To get more detailed information, the user can click on the day. An option that could be added is to have a live aerial view of the forecast outside. 11 The Theme Manager The Theme manager allows the user to set a theme to his wall.

12 After choosing a specific theme, a list of the user s applications comes up and depending on whether or not a skin is available for the application, the user can chose whether or not to apply that skin to the particular application. When selected, the application is highlighted (as seen on television), if it s unavailable there will be no picture next to it (the phone), if the skin is available but not activated, it is simply not highlighted. (Weather, media player) The Transfer Button The transfer button is available on the Wall s desktop and can be used in a few ways. Notes, videos, audio clips, ect can be dragged and dropped on top of the Transfer button, or the transfer button can be clicked and the user will be prompted with what they want to transfer. After either method is used, the user s address book is brought up and the user can select who they want to send whatever it is they re sending to.

13 Multiple Screens The nice thing about The Wall is that because it s so spacious, you can move anything around and have multiple applications open at the same time. This means that if you and your friends or family cannot physically get together, you can still enjoy a game, a birthday, or some other kind of event together though The Wall.

17 Directional sound and microphone An array of directional sound speaks ( and directional microphones will be used to allow users to listen to different audio feeds and to allow the users to speak without transmitting ambient noise. For example, if dad is making a phone call only he will be able to hear the person on the phone as to not disturb little Jimmy who is watching cartoons, at the same time little Jimmy s loud cartoons and his laughter will not be transmitted to the person dad is talking to. After logging in using simple voice recognition ( This is Bob. ) and facial recognition each user will be assigned an array of directional speaker/microphone pairs. The system will keep track of which user is where using facial recognition and tracking movement of the original shape that logged in. The number of pairs for each successive user who logs in will be allocated equally from each user who is currently logged in. For example, if 10 pairs are initially available. User A will get all 10 pairs. When user B logs in, he/she will get half of User B s pairs, each will have 5. Limitation, as the number of users increases, the chances of blocking a sound line-of-sight increases. In a case where the distance between the user and the speaker/microphone pair is suddenly decreased by somebody walking in the line-of-sight the system will attempt to re-route the pairs to compensate. The person blocking the signal will get their feed through the pair that just became blocked and one of their other pairs will be allocated to the person who s feed was just blocked.
