The FS-C8500DN is based on the engine of the 552ci with the same print functionality, high reliability and performance, utilizing Kyocera s unique long life technology. 4 Page 2 DEALER LIMITED WARRANTIES FOR FS-C8500DN Kyocera Mita America, Inc. ( Kyocera ) warrants to its Authorized Dealers that its new Multifunctional Products/ Printers (both referred to herein as MFP/Printers ) will be free from defects in workmanship and material under normal use and service for a period of 12 months from installation with first end-user, or 15 months from Kyocera s invoice date to Dealer, or the specified number of copies/prints as listed below, whichever is earlier. Kyocera obligation hereunder is expressly limited to providing Dealer with the parts required to repair the MFP/Printer or crediting Dealer's account for the cost of said parts, at Kyocera's election. Maintenance Kits, lamps, exterior covers, consumable parts, and all labor costs, are specifically excluded from this warranty. This warranty does not cover MFP/Printers, which: (a) have become damaged due to operator negligence, misuse, accidents, improper storage or unusual physical or electrical stress, (b) have used parts or supplies which are not genuine Kyocera brand parts or supplies, (c) have been installed or serviced by a technician not employed by Kyocera or an Authorized Kyocera Dealer, (d) have had the serial number modified, altered, or removed, or (e) Dealer fails to register the installation information for the MFP/Printer with Kyocera utilizing KMAconnect. THIS WARRANTY IS MADE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND KYOCERA SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THIS WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXTEND TO, AND KYOCERA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR, ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHICH MAY ARISE OUT OF THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE MFP/PRINTER. 5 Page 3 MAINTENANCE KIT LIMITED WARRANTY Kyocera Mita America, Inc. and Kyocera Mita Canada Ltd. (both referred to as Kyocera ) warrant your new maintenance kit against any defects in material and workmanship for a period of three (3) years or the defined number of prints, whichever occurs first, from the date of customer installation. In the event any unit of your maintenance kit is found to be defective within the warranty period, Kyocera s only obligation and your exclusive remedy shall be the exchange or repair, at Kyocera s option, of the unit. The warranty period for any replaced maintenance kit unit will expire at the end of the original warranty. It is understood that Kyocera shall have no obligation to furnish labor. This warranty is valid only for original retail purchaser (the Purchaser ) of a new maintenance kit in the United States of America or Canada, based upon the country of purchase. In order to receive warranty on a replacement maintenance kit, the replacement must be registered by an Authorized Dealer within 30 calendar days or 10% of the maintenance kit life, whichever comes first, from the expiration of the previous maintenance kit's warranty. In order to obtain performance of this warranty, the purchaser must return the defective maintenance kit unit in the original carton with proof of purchase (with date of purchase) together with a complete explanation of the problem to an Authorized Kyocera Service Facility in the United States or Canada, based upon the country of purchase. Any shipping charges must be prepaid by the Purchaser. This warranty does not cover maintenance kits, which: (a) have become damaged due to operator negligence, misuse, accidents, improper storage, or unusual physical or electrical stress, (b) have used parts and supplies which are not genuine Kyocera brand parts or supplies, (c) do not work properly because of failure to follow operating, storage or maintenance instructions, (d) have been installed or serviced by a technician not employed by Kyocera, or an Authorized Servicing Facility, or (e) have had the serial number modified, altered or removed. If the Dealer from whom the Purchaser purchased the printer is not an Authorized Kyocera Service Facility, the purchaser may obtain the name and address of an Authorized Kyocera Service Facility by writing to Kyocera at the address below or on the web at for Kyocera Mita America, Inc. or for Kyocera Mita Canada. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. The Purchaser may also have other rights that vary from state to state, or province to province. Neither the seller, nor any other person, is authorized to extend the time period or expand this warranty on behalf of Kyocera. 6 Page 4 LABOR REINBURCEMENT An Authorized Kyocera Dealer will receive labor reimbursement and parts replacement for warranty repairs performed by its Kyocera Certified Technician. Labor reimbursement is available for all FS Series Printer Models for a period of 12 months from installation with first end-user, or 15 months from Kyocera Mita America s invoice date to the dealer, or the specific number of copies/prints, whichever first occurs. Labor reimbursement is made in the form of a credit to the Dealer's Kyocera Account Number. All Printer Warranty Labor Credit Reimbursement Claims must utilize the Online Labor Credit Reimbursement on KMAconnect. A link to this form can be found once you login to KMAconnect at the top right hand corner of the webpage (Order Now). A selection of Forms can be opened under (Order Now). Select Returns on the left side menu Request Return Authorization, under Parts, select Warranty, enter Serial Number and select search. Select Labor Credit Tab, Request Labor Credit Form will be displayed. The selected form must be filled out completely, submitted online and printed out for your records. Benefits of the Online Labor Credit Reimbursement are: the status of your Labor Claim can be viewed online, speed up credit processing, and simplify communication to the National Operation Center. Return all products in accordance to the address indicated on the RMA Form. The Warranty Labor Reimbursement is designed for an Authorized Service Provider that performs Warranty Service. No reimbursement will be approved for services performed by a third party service organization.

7 Page 5 WARRANTY RETURNS To make it easier for Kyocera to process your Warranty Claim and verify other key information, the Maintenance Report (six pages), User Status (one page), Service Status (two pages), Event Log (one page) and Network Status Pages (three pages) must be included with the returned item. All Five Reports can be printed under Maintenance Mode U000, by selecting ALL. If all pages are not included with your Warranty Claim, credit will be declined. Status Report U000 1 Maintenance Off 2 User Status Off 3 SVC Status Off 4 Event Off 5 NW Status Off 6 All PRODUCT TRAINING Product Training Prerequisites Automatic Certification 250ci/300ci/400ci/500ci MFP Classroom Training Dealer Technicians who are classroom Trained and Certified on the 250ci/300ci/400ci/500ci MFP are considered Certified on the FS-C8500DN. New Dealers and Technicians who do not meet the prerequisites must attend Classroom Training which will be held at the National Training Center in Dallas. Technical Services recommends that the each Technician complete the Online Color Theory 101 course before attending the classroom training. Boot Camp Training Seminars are offered through your Regional Offices and conducted at your Dealership by your Regional Representative. Technical Services highly recommends this Seminar which will cover the differences between the FS-C8100DN and the new FS-C8500DN. Contact your Regional Representative to schedule a Seminar.

Any associated mounting brackets, hardware, system software and original packaging must be included with the claim. Credit will then be issued to your account. For defective PCB s out of warranty, a Repair PCB must be ordered from the Parts Distribution Center. The dealer will be charged 100% of the New PCB price. The defective PCB can be returned using the Online Repair Board Core Form within 30 days of the Repair PCB invoice date. Upon receipt of the defective PCB at the National Return Center, the dealer will be credited 55% of the New PCB price. 23 Page 21 ON-LINE ACTIVATION OF OPTIONS Kyocera continues the new user friendly method of activating the optional Data Security Kit for FS-C8500DN. A USB Key is no longer required for activation as in the past. The option will consist of an envelope containing a License Access Sheet and Installation Instructions. The License Sheet will consist of the Product Name and Product ID Number. You will need these items as well as the Printer Serial Number when you access the License page from KMAconnect. You will be issued a unique Activation Key once you register your option. Print this page and take this Activation Key number and input it on the panel of your Kyocera Printer to activate it. Login to the License Key Service on KMAconnect What s Required: License Certificate Product ID Number Printer Serial Number 1. Step One: Enter the Product ID from the License Certificate, Click Next. 2. Step Two: Your Product will be verified, Click Next. 3. Step Three: Enter the Printer Serial Number, Click Next. 4. Step Four: Enter the Printer Serial Number again, Click Next. 5. Step Five: Your Information will be verified, Click Next. 6. Step Six: Your License Key is issued. 7. Step Seven: Print the page and input the License Key number on the panel of your FS-C8500DN to activate your Device.

Before installation, confirm with the customer if the data can be deleted. FS-C8500DN Activation Procedure 1. Press [MENU]. 2. Press or to select Op Functions and then press [OK]. 3. Press or to select DATA SECURITY and then press [OK]. 4. Press or to select License On and then press [OK]. 5. Press or to select Official and then press [OK]. The license key entry screen is displayed. 6. Enter the license key and press [OK]. 7. Press [Yes] ([Left Select]). 8. Turn the main power switch off and on will display. Turn the power switch off. 9. Turn the power switch on. The startup screen appears and then the encryption code entry screen. 10. Enter the encryption code (8-digit alphanumeric characters). Note: Using the default encryption code ( ) will not affect data security reliability. If the customer wishes to change the code, press [Backspace] ([Left Select]) to delete the code and then enter the new code. 11. Press [Enter] ([Right Select]). Formatting begins. 12. When formatting is finished, Task is completed. Turn the main power switch off and on appears. Turn the power switch off. 13. Turn the power switch on. 14. Print a status page and make sure that Data Security Kit has been added in Installed Options.
