1 Issue Phone won t charge 1. Using the wrong AC ADAPTER with this phone, may cause the unit to malfunction. Make sure that you are using the AC ADAPTER that came in the box with your unit. 2. If the battery is more than 1 year old and there is an issue with the battery, customer may need to purchase a new battery. 3. For multi handset systems: To determine if the handset or the battery is defective, swap the batteries with a known working handset. Ensure that the customer fully charges the battery and monitors it. If the issue follows the handset, replace the handset if the system is expandable. Replace the whole system if the system is nonexpandable. Note: If a handset or system is being replaced, skip the remaining tips. If the issue follows the battery, goto ID# For single handset systems or when all HS's are affected follow the steps below. If the issue persists, replace the system. Skip remaining tips. Reset the phone: Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base. NOTE: After resetting the telephone system, you will need to reset the date and time. Step 1: Use the dialing keys (0-9) to enter the current month (for example, if the month is March, you must enter 03). Press MENU/SELECT Step 2: Use the dialing keys to enter the hour and minute. Press MENU/SELECT Step 3: Press or to select AM or PM. Press MENU/SELECT. You will hear a confirmation tone. 4. 'When placing the handset in the charging base, confirm that the charge contacts on the handset and base are making a good connection. The CHARGE light on the telephone handset will be on when the handset is charging. When charging your cordless phone for the first time, or when the battery is completely dead, after 30 minutes of uninterrupted charging, the handset will be fully functional; which includes the handset display and indicator lights. There is enough charge at this point to use the telephone for a short time. Note: It is recommended that you charge your handset battery for the first time for 12 hours to maximize the life of your battery. After the initial 12 hour charge, keep the handset in the telephone base or charger when not in use. It is normal for the unit to show "LOW BATTERY while charging. This will go away once the unit

2 has received a minimum charge. For optimum daily performance, return the handset to its telephone base when not in use. If the charge light does not come on please see the symptom " Why won't the handset charge light come on?" 5. If you use the handset speakerphone when on calls, this will drain the battery faster. The handset speakerphone uses more power to operate. This is normal operation. 6. If your handset shows OUT OF RANGE OR NO PWR AT BASE when on the cradle, move the handset and its charger closer to base. If your handset is out of range, it will continue to try to connect to the base; causing the batteries to drain faster. Issue Display to dim, brightness different on each handset display 1. If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your telephone system. Complete the following steps to reset the telephone system: Step 3:Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base. NOTE: After resetting the telephone system, you will need to reset the clock. To reset the clock: Step 1: Use the dialing keys (0-9) to enter the current month (for example, if the month is March, you must enter 03). Press MENU/SELECT Step 2: Use the dialing keys to enter the hour and minute. Press MENU/SELECT Step 3: Press or to select AM or PM. Press MENU/SELECT. You will hear a confirmation tone. Issue No caller ID announcement 1. Phone doesn t have that feature. Normal operation. Issue Sound of the phone was too crackle, poor quality, static on the line 1. Reset the phone: Step 3:Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base. NOTE: After resetting the telephone system, you will need to reset the clock:

3 Step 1. Press Menu/Select when the handset is not in use. Step 2. Press or to select Set date/time and press Menu/Select. Step 3. Use the dialing keys (0-9) to enter the month (MM), date (DD) and (YY). Then press Menu/Select. Step 4. Use the dialing keys (0-9) to enter the hour (HH) and minute (MM). The press or to choose AM or PM. Step 5. Press Menu/Select to save. 2. Take the phone to another jack and test it. If you the phone works, there may be an issue with the original jack. If it still does not work, try another phone, preferably a corded phone. If you do not have a different phone, test your unit at another location, such as a friend's or neighbor's home. If the problem persists, your phone may have a malfunction. If the unit functions, you may have line or wiring problem. Contact your telephone company. 3. Your handset being out of range of the base may cause a poor connection. Move the handset closer to the base. The operating range may vary with environmental conditions and time of use. There may be places within your environment that a cordless phone will not work well. If the problem only occurs in certain areas of your environment, you can conclude that there is nothing wrong with the phone. 4. If you subscribe to DSL service for this telephone line, DSL filters must be plugged into EVERY phone jack that has a phone. The DSL signal can cause static/noise, squealing (similar to fax tones), caller ID disruption and other issues on your line. DSL filters block the high frequency DSL signals from being transmitted to the telephone. If you are not using the DSL filters provided by the telephone company, this will cause static/noise and possibly caller id issues on your phones. In most cases, we recommend you connect the plug end of the DSL filter into the telephone jack, then connect a telephone cord between the filter and your phone. Please contact your service provider to obtain DSL filters and installation information. 5. If your phone shares a power outlet with a modem, or if it is plugged in to a shared surge protector, it may create static or noise. Try plugging the phone (or modem/surge protector) in at a different location. If this solves the problem, re-locate your phone or modem farther apart from one another, or use separate surge protectors. 6. Other electronic products such as HAM Radios and other DECT Phones can cause interference with your cordless phone. Try installing your phone as far away as possible from these types of electronic devices. 7. Make sure that you are using the AC ADAPTER that came in the box with your unit. Using the wrong AC ADAPTER with this phone, may cause the unit to malfunction.

4 8. The location of the base may limit the connection between the handset and the base. For example. If you have a multi-story house or building with the base downstairs and a handset upstairs, you may not get a good signal. Or, you may not have a good signal if the base is behind a wall and you are using the handset outside. To get better reception, try moving the telephone base to higher location. Or relocate telephone base near a window if using telephone outside. Issue Bluetooth feature keeps failing, not working with my iphone Agent would need more information as to what keeps failing for example is customer not able to pair to the DS base? Not working with my iphone. Phone is compatible with iphone so would need more information as to what customer means by not working, i.e. is customer unable to pair iphone to base? 1. CELL PHONE: Ensure that the cell phone has been paired to the cordless telephone base and that it is included in the active devices list.ensure that your cell phone is charged. Connecting may not take place if the battery pack is low. If your cell phone is currently active on another Bluetooth device, such as a headset, you will not be able to connect it to the cordless telephone base until you disconnect it from the other device. Turn the cell phone off and then turn it on again. Ensure your cell phones Bluetooth feature is turned on and in pairing mode. Consult your owners manual for information on pairing your cell phone with another Bluetooth device, including how to put it in discoverable mode. The cordless telephone base must also be in discoverable mode. Follow the directions in the Users Manual on pairing. Remember, pairing can only be initiated from the cordless telephone base, not from the cordless handset. Some Smart Phones / PDA phones have a wireless / wi-fi feature that must be turned on. Consult your cell phone owners manual. It will tell you if your phone has this feature and how to activate it. Turn your cell phone off and then on again. Try the pairing procedure again. Some cell phones require you to authorize the Bluetooth device before it will pair. The phone will show the cordless telephone base and you must authorize it to work. Consult your cell phone owners manual for the pairing procedure. Reset the cordless telephone base and try the pairing procedure again. Unplug the AC power for 15 seconds, then plug the power in again. Once the unit resets, try the pairing procedure again.
