M 3 1 B.H Dept. of MCA,VIAT Bangalore,India 2 Givt Polytechnic 3 MCA Student Bangalore, India Abstract- In the current scenario, every woman are worried about when they will be able to walk out of home freely on the streets even at odd hours without thinking about their security. Providing security to women in the current world scenario is a critical issue but very needed to every individual. Now a day s sexual harassment against women has been increased such as rape in public transport by drivers and so on. Hence women security has become the most important preference among many organizations. So many IT companies are looking forward to solve the security issue and thus require a framework that will work efficiently and reduce the number of crimes. Hence this proposed project is designed to provide security for women, by sending message to nearby police and to the control room. The application also sends location of the end user and also alerts to the emergency contacts. I. INTRODUCTION Crimes against women have been doubled from a decade. More than two million crimes were reported in the last decade. Nearly 23 crimes are reported against female for every 60 minutes or a single complaint for every three minutes. The term Android refers to an Operating System created by Google which is used on mobile devices like Smartphone s and tablets. Android is an open source and free to use platform. It provides greater flexibility for the apps by letting Firefox, Opera and chrome to run. Android provides Software Development Kit (SDK) free of cost for the developers to minimize the development and licensing cost. Android phones come with variety of built in applications and also supports third-party programs. Android programs are coded using Java language and are executed with the use of Google s Davlik virtual machine, which was developed for all mobile devices. End Users can download Android applications with the help of online Android Market. The System built using android operating system will compile source code, resources used by the app and wrap them in APKs so that the developer can test, release the application and distribute. The elasticity of the Android Operating system enables the developers to perform custom build configurations without modifying your app's core source files. As Now a day s Smartphone s are used everywhere the intension of the proposed system is to reduce crime against women by providing a user friendly app to the user, the proposed system consists of 7 buttons hence it is easy to use by people who have no much knowledge about Smartphone s, The proposed system is designed with an intension to provide immediate protection to the victim and also trace the culprit so that the number of crimes decreases gradually. The paper is organized as follows Section II discusses about the recent studies towards providing security to women in the society. Section III briefly explains the proposed system. 2 about how the proposed system can be implemented using the current technology. Section V discusses conclusion. II. RELATED WORK This section presents a literature overview of applications which provides security for women s. Keeping the same concern in mind many developers have come up with innovative applications A Magesh Kumar S and RajKumar M, iprob emergency application for women They have implemented an emergency reaction scenario identifiable Application names IPROB with an intension to provide safety for women even during scenarios like attack of terrorist or any natural disaster, the user can try to save herself by shaking the phone more than the normal threshold value, this automates and activates the application. It begins to collect the neighboring voice to check and validate the dangerous IPROB scenario, then it raises an alert and if the end user fails to reply in a defined time interval then the pre defined message is broadcasted to the stored phone numbers. If the phone of the receiver at the other end has set their mobile to silent profile then it is automatically converted to loud to send the voice alert as YOUR FRIEND IS IN DANGER PLZ HELP the alert is continuously repeated just like a ringtone unless the user stops it. If the receiver at the other end approves a emergency service like ambulance, fire engine and so on then they are alerted. If the receiver approves a hear able alert, then it mechanically alerts and enable the speakerphone of the victim. The disadvantage of this paper is that the receiver may be at far distance from the user location hence may not be in a position to rescue the victim and the other option provided in this paper is calling to the emergency system like fire or ambulance where there are possibilities of not able to accommodate such emergency service at a predefined time, by the time the receiver calls to police or a ambulance violent crime could have been taken place on the victim and the location of the user is not known so tracing out the location of the victim is hassle and doesn t help in reducing the crimes. B Basavaraj Chougla Et.al [2] SMART GIRLS SECURITY SYSTEM They have designed a portable device similar to ordinary belt which will be mechanically activated on the basis of pressure level, as the pressure level of the user increases in during unsafe scenario. GPS System traces the current location of the user and sends the predefined emergency message to the three contacts stored for every two minutes. It also has alarm which produces a siren sound so that the victim can be helped from the attack. The user can also generate a current shock with the help of this device to escape from the attacker. It utilizes Arduino Plank, GSM, GPS, screech alert and weight sensing device. Once edge of the sensing device increases, the devices will start enacted naturally. Quickly the area of the client will be observed with the guide of GPS and crisis data will be conveyed to few phone numbers and one to police at regular intervals in the overhauled area. The main drawback of this system is that even though the device is portable the user may not wish to wear it everywhere. Female with health issues may not be able to ware. Where as an app would not have such drawbacks as it can be used even by physically disabled people. C Vaijayanti Pawar Et.al[4] SCIWARS Android Application for Women Safety, They proposed a SCIWARS app (Spy Camera Identification and Women Attack Rescue System) which consist of two modules. A first module act as an intelligent alerts system which detects the infrared rays coming from every Night-vision hidden cameras placed in changing rooms- hotels room etc and also informed the user about unsafe place through message. Now it s the user responsibility whether to register a complaint or not by forwarding the notification with the location to legal authorities such All Rights Reserved 303

3 Police. The second module will get activated by pressing any key continuously which will provide the help to the victim from physic attack in unsafe situation. It sends the emergency message containing location to register contacts. It also records the voice and captures the images of the surrounding for 45 seconds. This information also stored in secret location of mobile for future evidences. This app also able to converts the receiver mobile III. PROPOSED SYSTEM The proposed System aims to eliminate all the disadvantages of the existing systems. This framework concentrates on a security issues that is outlined exclusively to fill the need of giving security to ladies so that they never feel vulnerable while confronting such social difficulties. The proposed structure helps to protect the victim by sending the message to the nearby police which is visible on the map when the user selects the button. The main theme of the proposed system is that the user can be protected in the many of the scenarios an also helps to catch and or trace of the culprit so that even the number of crimes can be reduced eventually. This system makes use of GPS and GSM techniques. The System uses the Global Positioning System technology to trace the location of the user vehicle and Global System Messaging to send the message to the nearby police. The message is also sent to the registered contacts fed in to the application. The most advantage of the proposed system is that helps to save the victim from the physical attack and also helps the police to trace/catch hold of the culprit. This system when used eventually in India, makes possible that every girl will be able to move uninhibitedly on the streets even in odd hours without agonizing over their security. IV. SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE The following diagram represents the architecture of the proposed system. The main three components needed to run this application are Internet on the client phone, GPS to track the location of the police and GSM which enables to send data through messaging All Rights Reserved 304

The user is given a set of options, which they can opt depending upon their current All Rights Reserved 305

The main intention in utilizing these charts is to display the work stream behind the framework which is outlined. The above figure shows the process through activity diagram with respect to the application. IV. IMPLEMENTATION The implementation of the proposed system has been carried out using Java language Modules in the Project 1. Voice Recognition Module 2. Women Tracking Module 3. Nearby police station and hospitals Modules 4. Emergency Calling Module Module 1: Voice Recognition Module The Help button will get activated when pressed which will provide help to the victim who have already faced a physical attack in hazardous situation. When the user selects this option and screams saying help or help me or please help me or help me please the nearby. Police are tracked by using the GPS System. The GPS tracks the longitude and latitude in order to extract the current location of the victim and sends the pre-stored emergency message by using GSM to the nearby police as well as to the registered mobile numbers. Module 2: Women Tracking Module This module is designed to provide two options such as Not Safe and Track for the female to provide security. The Not Safe Button is designed to protect the female who feels unsecure of her surrounding environment. When the user selects this option the nearby hoysala are alerted by using the GPS All Rights Reserved 306

6 The GPS tracks the longitude and latitude in order to an extract the current location of the victim and sends the pre-stored emergency message by using GSM to the nearby hoysala as well as to the registered mobile numbers. The Track button is designed to protect the female who feels unsecure while travelling in public transport. When she chooses this option a message will be sent to the nearby police and also to the registered contacts. After she reaches her destination safely she can choose the Safe button. Module 3: Nearby police station and hospitals Modules This option enables the user to view the nearby police stations and hospitals with respect to the current location of the user limited to 5kms Module 4: Emergency Calling Module This button enables user to call fire engine and ambulance in case of any emergency. There are two types of emergency calling system such as Default Calling and User Enabled Calling Default Calling: In default calling the call is diverted to a default number encoded during implementation User Enabled Calling: Here the user has a liberty to choose the type of ambulance this feature is designed only for ambulance and not to fire engine. When the user chooses this option the nearby ambulances are displayed on Google map. The user can then just select the ambulance of his wish, when he selects the driver of the respective ambulance receives V. CONCLUSION This project deals with critical issues confronted by women and will help to provide salvations to them with innovative thoughts by using the GPS and GSM methods. This application will defeat the apprehension that panics each lady in the nation about her wellbeing and security. This application has not been designed only with a view of providing security to women in the country; it is also useful to save any human under dangerous scenario. It provides information about the women to the nearby police so that the police find clues or traces of the culprit and arrest him as soon as possible. So that the number of crimes eventually gets reduced and one fine day women s in our country need not be scared to walk out of their homes even during odd timings. REFERENCES 1.
