3 Certification Overview DESKTOP DEVELOPER ENTERPRISE ASSOCIATE PROFESSIONAL ArcGIS Desktop Associate ArcGIS Desktop Desktop Developer Associate Desktop Developer Web Server Developer Associate Web Server Developer Mobile Developer Associate Mobile Developer Enterprise Geodata Mgmt. Associate Enterprise Geodata Mgmt. EXPERT The need for "Expert" level certifications is yet to be determined. Some tracks may potentially develop "Expert" level or "Specialist" certifications Enterprise System Design Associate Enterprise Administration Associate Enterprise System Design NOTE: All tracks and levels have not been determined/finalized How does one become certified? Gain experience using ESRI software On the job j Formal training College/University/Technical school Take an exam Worldwide testing center locations Between $150$150-$200 per exam Approximately 90 questions on the exam Results in 66-8 weeks 3

No GISP = Certified GIS Granted by GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) GISP is far more holistic Takes into consideration: College Education # of years worked in GIS Ongoing professional education Community Involvement All ESRI Certification cares about is do you know ESRI software? What s the timeline? Currently in closed beta program Open only y to: ESRI Employees Distributors Business Partners Authorized Instructors Beta exams administered during UC week at the Omni Primarily for distributors, BPs and ATP s Converting one classroom in Redlands to testing center Primarily for employees Open by August 1 4

5 What s the timeline? Beta program runs through September No one g gets results of exam until beta is finished Beta program is free and tests aren t timed 170 questions on beta exams If you pass the exam, you re certified!
