5 SENATE BILL 850 The bill builds on the Career and Professional Education (CAPE) provisions and expands rigorous acceleration, curricular, instructional, and assessment options for public elementary, middle, and high school students.

10 TEST ADMINISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR To report industry certifications, the following procedures must be followed for all written examinations: Exam is not proctored by the individual providing the direct instruction for the industry certification or certificate, except under extremely limited conditions. If only one individual is approved by the certifying agency as a proctor, the teacher may proctor the exams and must be independently monitored by a second individual who does not provide direct instruction for the industry certification content to the individuals taking the test(s). Exam questions are delivered in a secure manner and paper-based tests are not available to the proctor for an extended period of time. Exam is scored by certifying agency (cannot be scored by anyone at the district). Exam is administered in accordance with the certifying agency procedures. Exam must not have administered more than 3 times during the academic year with a minimum of 30 days between test administrations. 10

11 FEFP Calculated based on students in career-themed courses in who earned industry certifications Calculation for high school students will not be capped at 0.3 FTE per student Middle grades students earning industry certifications on the CAPE Industry Certification Funding List will be included for a maximum of 0.1 FTE 11

12 REGISTERING CAREER-THEMED COURSES Districts are required to annually register the career-themed courses (CTCs) that meet the requirements of s , F.S. The initial CTC registration period is from October 16 to November 30 REGISTERING CAREER ACADEMIES CAPE Academies must be re-registered each year. Registration window is between August 15 and September 15 for High School academies and September 16 to October 15 for Middle School academies.

14 INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS FOR TEACHERS Teachers who are assigned to teach Career and Technical Education courses shall possess an applicable industry certification. Current employees who fail to satisfy this requirement prior to June 30, 2015 shall be terminated.. United Teacher s of Dade

33 TRAVEL We can only reimburse CTE certified teachers per Perkins Guidelines. Travel must be submitted 10 business days after conclusion of travel.

34 Substitutes Request for subs must be submitted in writing 15 business days prior to event. Can only pay for CTE Certified teachers. Must return completed form with Subs name with Payroll reporting form attached within 10 days of event.

35 INVENTORY All equipment and software purchased with Perkins funds MUST be in the program and classroom for which it is purchased. IT DOES NOT BELONG TO THE SCHOOL During an inventory of all equipment and software purchased with Perkins funds will be conducted.
