An individual seeking upgraded role(s) for CMMI V2.0 must be a Certified CMMI V1.3 SCAMPI Lead Appraiser in good standing and must satisfy the following requirements: Successfully complete the CMMI V2.0 Model Upgrade Training for Partner- Sponsored Individuals Pass the CMMI V2.0 Upgrade Exam with a score of 80% or higher Successfully complete CMMI V2.0 Lead Appraiser Upgrade Workshop Sign the revised CMMI Institute Certification Agreement Completion criteria for Model Upgrade Training for Partner-Sponsored Individuals is as follows: Participate actively in all classroom activities Do not miss any classroom time Meet all course learning objectives The CMMI V2.0 Model Upgrade Exam may be taken for up to 30 days following completion of the final day of Model Upgrade Training for Partner-Sponsored Individuals, without added fee after course purchase. See Upgrade Exam Policy. CMMI V2.0 Instructor certification may be verified by viewing either the CMMI Instructor certificate or the CMMI Partner Directory. Certifications expire in accordance with the V1.3 expiration date. New CMMI V2.0 certifications may be maintained without interruption by meeting pre-established renewal criteria. 5 CMMI V2.0 Appraisal Team Member Upgrade Policy Meet all Appraisal Team Member requirements, as defined in the CMMI V2.0 Appraisal Method Definition Document (MDD). Successfully complete the CMMI V2.0 Model Upgrade Training and pass the CMMI V2.0 Associate Exam. If participating on a CMMI V2.0 High Maturity appraisal, Appraisal Team Members must have taken the 1-day High Maturity Concepts course. CMMIINSTITUTE.COM page 5
6 Upgrade Exam Policy In addition to fulfilling one requirement for earning new CMMI V2.0 Partner role(s), passing the V2.0 Upgrade Exam qualifies the test-taker as a Certified CMMI Associate. Upon passing the exam, the test-taker may select Achievements in the CMMI Institute Online Training Center to print the certification. An upgraded individual who would like to see their name listed in the CMMI Associate Directory should make that request of Info@cmmiinstitute.com. Once requested, the name will be listed in the CMMI Associate directory within two weeks. CMMI Upgrade Exam credit that is included with the cost of CMMI V2.0 Model Upgrade training for Partner-Sponsored Individuals must be used within 30 days of the first day of the training. After 30 days have expired, students may choose to purchase the exam. Students may info@cmmiinstitute.com to request the purchase link for the exam. 80% constitutes a passing score on the exam. If the exam is not passed on the first attempt, a second attempt will be granted for no additional cost. If the exam is not passed a second time, the student must wait six months from the date of the second failed attempt to purchase and retake the exam. Students may info@cmmiinstitute.com to request the purchase link for the exam. In the event of a failed third attempt, the student must begin the CMMI V2.0 certification process as a new applicant. Without the CMMI V2.0 version of the Associate certification, students may not participate in appraisals as Appraisal Team Members or in any other role that requires a CMMI V2.0 certification.
