4 AMRITA ADMISSIONS 0 HANDBOOK. INTRODUCTION Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Mysore, a constituent school of the University offers four Undergraduate programmes - BCA, BBM, B.Com, B.Com (Taxation) & B.Sc-Visual Media and three Postgraduate programmes - MCA, M.Com & M.Sc (CS). Selection to MCA programme is based on merit and Amrita MCA Entrance Exam and subsequent interview for the qualifying candidates. This handbook contains general information and rules relating to the admissions 0 and other relevant details. Candidates are required to go through the handbook carefully and acquaint themselves with the procedures relating to the admission. The contents of the handbook are subject to modification as may be deemed necessary by the University. The decision of the University will be final and binding on any issue related to the admission.

36 . Admission Procedure Prospectus & Application Form can be had on payment of Rs.00/- for all U.G. (BCA, B.Sc Visual Media, BBM, B.Com, B.Com - Taxation) programmes and Rs.50/- for MCA & Rs.50/- for M.Sc & M.Com programmes. Payment can be made by Cash or DD(DD drawn in favour of Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, payable at Mysore). Candidates seeking admission to U.G. Programmes should submit application in the prescribed form. Last date to apply for M.Sc (CS) will be notified on the website of Amrita School of Arts & Sciences, Mysore. For all programmes, 5% of seats are reserved for management. Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of qualifying exam marks and personal interview. Such candidates called for interview shall attend the counselling on the specified date and time. The candidate should be accompanied by his / her parent while attending the session. (Only if parents are not alive, the guardian of the candidate may accompany the candidate). If the candidate is selected for admission after counselling, he / she shall join the school immediately by paying the prescribed fees. Note : Selection for MCA is based on marks scored in Amrita Entrance Exam for MCA, marks in qualifying exam and the personal interview. General Rules : - Students should abide by all the rules and regulations... of the School. - Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. 38 5. General Guidelines I. Mere submission of the application does not guarantee admission to the programme. II. Admission will stand cancelled automatically if the candidate fails to fulfil any of the procedural requirement. III. Refund Rules Refund of fees will be made as per the regulations of Govt. of India. If a student admitted to the programme withdraws from the programme before the starting of classes, the fees collected from the student will be refunded after deducting a processing fee of ` 000/-. If a student leaves after starting of the classes, but before closing of the admission and if the seat consequently falling vacant is filled by another candidate before the last date of submission, the university will return the fees collected with a deduction on prorata basis. If the vacant seat is not filled up as above, the fee will not be refunded. No refund will be given to a student leaving after the closing of admissions.
