The Professional Development and Practice module extends the programme by 6 months if students take up a work placement and attracts a higher fee than the 12 month programme. The module also runs alongside stages 1 and 2 but is assessed in stage 3. Programme Regulations 2 MSc in Management with Streams - Full Time 1. Authority 2 The mandatory Conditions for Admission are approved during programme validation. Admissions criteria are set at the discretion of Deans of Schools and may be raised from time to time. Please check the programme page on the website for current requirements.

5 These regulations are made under the University s General Academic Regulations and are validated with the programme leading to the MSc. 2. Conflict with the General Academic Regulations Except to the extent that the Academic Council has specifically approved derogation, in the event of a conflict between these regulations and the University s General Academic Regulations, the latter shall prevail. 3. Conditions for Admission 1) All students will have obtained:- (a) A minimum of a 2:2 Honours degree from a UK or recognised overseas university or an equivalent international qualification; OR (b) An acceptable professional qualification equivalent such as the CMI, ILM, CIM, CIMA, at level 6 or above; 2) Following the review of applications, students may be required to: (a) Attend a face-to-face or Skype interview (b) Take part in a telephone interview (c) Submit a recent Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score of 580 or above 3) Students who are non-native users of English must: (a) Provide evidence that they have been instructed and assessed predominantly in English for a significant part of their educational career; OR (b) Provide evidence of a recent IELTS Score of 6.5 overall or higher, plus a minimum of 6.5 in each sub-component, OR (c) Provide evidence of an equivalent result in an appropriate English language examination Where references are required, referees should normally be academic staff working in higher education with direct knowledge of the applicant's academic work. When applicants with relevant work experience are unable to obtain an academic reference or where work experience is particularly relevant to the mode of the course the applicant wishes to undertake, a person with knowledge of their employment activity may be nominated to act as a referee. 4. Conditions of Acceptance a) Terms and conditions An offer of a place on this offering of the programme is subject to the terms and conditions stated in the documentation accompanying the offer in the Programme Admissions Manual. b) Induction All applicants accepted onto the programme must attend the Induction 5. Registration for modules

6 Candidates are only entitled to sit an assessment if they have registered for the relevant module in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Student Programme Handbook. 7. Conditions for the Granting of Awards a) No students shall be entitled to enrol for an award other than the MSc in Management b) A student who completes an approved programme of study, as described in this handbook, shall be awarded an MSc in Management Those students who exit the Programme without completing it may nevertheless be entitled to exit with an award of Postgraduate Certificate (with either Pass or Distinction classification) provided they have completed all Stage 1 modules equivalent to 60 credits, or Postgraduate Diploma (with either Pass or Distinction classification) provided they have completed all Stage 1 & 2 modules equivalent to 120 credits c) Candidates shall gain the relevant award with Distinction where they have satisfied the requirements for the award and have obtained an Aggregate Weighted Percentage Mark (as calculated according to the Manual of Policies and Procedures) of 70% or above d) A student shall be permitted three attempts at each assessment; one first sit and two resits. Further attempts may only be permitted in accordance with the regulations on appeals and the rules on concessions. Where a student resits and passes an assessment component the component mark shall be capped at the pass mark. The capped mark shall be aggregated with the original mark(s) of the other component(s) and the aggregated mark shall appear on the transcript.

7 PART 3 - PROGRAMME OUTCOMES Programme aims The degree is designed to provide you with integrated academic and professional training and to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills relevant for pursuing a management career. This programme aims to: Provide a broad, critical and integrated study of management for non-cognate students. Enhance the employability of students by developing an advanced knowledge and understanding to systematically and creatively inform management practice. Prepare students in the use of appropriate tools and techniques beneficial to business operations. Improve independence, self-direction and self-development of participants for the benefit of the student, organisation and society. Offer students the opportunity to focus their learning on one specialised area. Students should be able to: Critically evaluate a range of complex situations for the purpose of decisions in a range of business environments and sectors. Learning and Teaching Strategy Classroom based learning Facilitated by BPP Faculty (including face to face lectures, seminars, group and individual work as well as opportunities for engagement and support at an individual level). E-learning Delivered by BPP Faculty and available via the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Enhancement of knowledge through the use of live case studies and business simulation games. Self-managed, independent learning (guided by BPP faculty in order to help consolidate learning activities). Study Structure Total notional hours for each 15 credit module are 150. For the Business Project and PDP modules, the total effort required is 600 hours.
