1 Regina Campus PESTICIDE APPLICATOR or DISPENSER RE-CERTIFICATION REGISTRATION INFORMATION PACKAGE In Saskatchewan, all pesticide applicators and dispensers are required to re-certify their pesticide training every five years. There are two ways of attaining re-certification: 1. Write a re-certification exam at an approved test center. 2. Re-certify by accumulating Continuing Education Credits (CECs). This option is available to holders of Aerial, Greenhouse, Industrial Vegetation, Rat Control and Structural category licences. ( * - Price subject to change) Re-Certification Process Step 1: Fill out the Continuing Education Course Registration Form and Exam request form and send to Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus: reginbox.regina@saskpolytech.ca or : (306) a) Fill out the registration form indicating the license category that you are recertifying in. b) If you wish to recertify with Continuing Education Credits, please call the Pesticide Education program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus at Ext 7473 c) If you are recertifying by exam, complete the exam request form indicating the test site you wish to write the exam at. The recertification exam can be written at a Saskatchewan Polytechnic Test Centre or at an approved Regional College Office (see attached list of sites). d) Send the registration form and the exam request form (if required) to Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus by fax or by mail. Be sure to include the $ registration fee. This fee can be paid by credit card or cheque. A photocopy of your current pesticide applicator license is also required. Step 2: If you require course manuals, they may be purchased from Saskatchewan Polytechnic online bookstores (links at or by calling the bookstore processing centre at All categories, other than Dispenser include both the Safety and Legislation (Core) manual and a categoryspecific manual. Step 3: When you are ready to write the recertification exam, contact the appropriate Saskatchewan Polytechnic Test Centre or Regional College location to make an appointment to write the exam. Please allow ten business days after your registration is processed for the exam to arrive at the designated location. Step 4: Once you have written the recertification exam, you will receive the results or, if successful, a Statement of Achievement in the mail. You will be required to send a photocopy of the Statement of Achievement along with your pesticide applicator license application to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture in order to receive your pesticide applicator license.

2 Other Important Information Confirmation of Sponsorship Form The Confirmation of Sponsorship form is to be filled out only if a business or government department is paying the course manual fee and/or the registration fee for the student or group of students and would like to receive an invoice for the total amount. Important* - if you are registering for a pesticide course using a Confirmation of Sponsorship form and you require a course manual, you must also contact the Bookstore Processing Center ( ) to receive your course manual. The Confirmation of Sponsorship form is not required if the business or government department is paying the registration fees at the time of registration with a cheque or credit card. The Confirmation of Sponsorship form is not required for a student registering for a pesticide applicator course and is paying his/her own registration fees. Examinations Prior to writing an exam, you are responsible to arrange with the test center you have chosen for a suitable time to write your exam. Normally, this should be done at least one week prior to writing the exam. Regional Colleges may charge an exam supervision fee. You have 12 months from the date of registration to complete the course, including writing the exam and any re-writes if required. However, be aware of the date your current applicator license expires to ensure it does not lapse. Students exceeding their 12 month registration period including any re-writes will be required to reregister. The exam format is closed book and the exam has a time limit of 1.5 hours. Completed exams are sent to Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina Campus for marking. The results will be mailed directly to the student. If necessary, two re-write exams are permitted. Re-write exams are 3 hour examinations. The re-write fee is $80.00 per exam. You must achieve 75% on the exam to successfully complete the course. Grades are confidential and will not be released over the phone, students are expected to log onto their Saskatchewan Polytechnic account to check their grades. Refunds and Receipts In compliance with Saskatchewan Polytechnic Registration Services policy, requests for refunds are only available prior to 14 calendar days after the registration is processed. Registration refunds are subject to a $ administration fee. Official receipts for fees paid will only be issued to the registered student in compliance with Saskatchewan Polytechnic Registration Services policy.
