3 enterprises by of a 1) Analysis of study on Universities in Poland 1 The development and recognition of citizens' knowledge, skills and competence are crucial for the development of individuals, competitiveness, employment and social cohesion in the Community. In Poland there were developed national qualifications framework, according to recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2008 on the establishment of the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning. According to this regulation, the educational standards for different fields of studies were developed. Currently in Poland there have been 118 standards approved. In table 1. there are educational standards described in which as main topics of education are mentioned management standard issues. Among them quality management is the most popular main topic of education. In table 2. there are presented numbers of colleges, where it is possible to study one QMS fields of study. Table 1. The studies lasts 5 years and students receive a Quality Management Diploma. Within this specialization the following courses are provided: Quality management. Quality systems engineering. Consumer assessment of quality. Customer satisfaction in management systems. Quality management in international trade. Costs of quality calculation for engineers. Economics of quality. Decision support methods regarding quality management in the company. Quality systems in hotel and food service management. Food safety management. TQM and branch quality management systems. The year of 2000, was the first, were students graduated Quality Management Specialization for the first time at Cracow University of Economics. The total number of students by 2013 with Quality Management Diploma is In the Figure 1 there can be observed the biggest number of graduated students between years 2003 and This years are covering the period from just before Poland s accession to the European Union and the first years of being a formal partner of EU. This years were also the years were quality management systems were very popular in Poland and students were also interested in studying this subjects. It is also very important to mention that during past few years Poland is in the period of demographic/population decline, so the number of students is getting lower and lower. Figure 1. 6 enterprises by of a Besides the dedicated specialization for quality management, the Department of Quality Management of CUE provides a courses with PCTC (accredited personnel certification body) for certificates of Quality Assistant as well as for Quality Representative. The courses for Quality Assistant Certificate started in 2002 and for Quality Representative Certificate in It is also very important to emphasise that PCTC have given the permission for at least Quality Assistant courses to 17 universities all across Poland. The Department of Quality Management of CUE was one of the first Universities that received the permission and is one of the leading in that area in Poland. The number of certificates issued in each year by PCTC for CUE students are shown in Table 2. Figure 2. 7 enterprises by of a 2) Analysis of courses and training in the field of QMS that was provided by training organizations 4 To describe the ways of the training programmes in the field of QMS it is necessary to point out that there are different ways to get this knowledge. First to of all there are certification bodies that has an accreditation issued by Polish Centre for Accreditation in personnel certification area in number of 13 organizations. However, only 3 of them have management issues in their scope within personnel competences (Table 4). The number of issued certificates in years are presented in table 5. Table 4. In the scope of certification there are mainly internal and external auditors of ISO 9001, ISO and OHSAS standards. Second, there is a possibility to be trained by independent companies that conduct trainings and courses in the field of QMS. There are hundreds of them and they specialize in particular industries and branches, providing well trained staff according to the market demands. So, for example there are companies that conduct trainings for automotive industry and they cover the following scope: APQP and FMEA Global 8D Lean Manufacturing 4 according to ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, ~ 7 ~

For other industries/branches ex. public administration, medical, construction, food, cosmetics, IT, wood etc. training companies provide trainings from ISO 9001, ISO and OHSAS standards adjusted for particular customer, or they train from the standards especially designed for industries ex. ISO 22000, TL 9000, ISO 13485, ISO/IEC Besides of this standards, training companies provide courses on different kinds of tools used by particular industries for evaluating the effectiveness of the companies ex. tools such as Mystery Shopper, Critical Incident Technique as well as Servqual within services companies. 3) Most relevant certifying and training organizations in the field of QMS in the country There has been 34 certification bodies with accreditation in the field of management issued by Polish Centre for Accreditation. The number of CB with other than Polish accreditation are also common, but it is hard to estimate their number. Considering training organizations within QMS there are uncounted number of companies and the number of them is very difficult to estimate. ~ 8 ~

9 enterprises by of a However the most relevant certification and training organizations operating in Poland within QMS are: Polish Centre for Testing and Certification (They are leading organization with over 50 years of experience in the field: testing and certification of products, certification of management systems, training of personnel, certification of persons. They are a leader in management systems training and certification among bodies operating on the Polish market). SGS POLAND 5 (SGS is the world s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. They are recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. With more than 80,000 employees, they operate a network of more than 1,650 offices and laboratories around the world). TUV NORD (One of the biggest certification bodes in Europe, with over 130 years of experience. They are present in Poland since 1994 and they have accreditation in the fields of: quality management systems according to ISO 9001; environmental management systems according to ISO 14001; occupational health & safety according to PN-N-18001; information security according to PN-ISO/IEC 27001). After analysing all above mentioned certification bodies within training programs in field of QMS the most popular courses are: Quality management system according to requirements of ISO 9000 standards. Quality management system according to ISO etc. Environmental management system according to requirements of ISO standards, EMAS. Occupational health and safety management system according to requirements of PN-N , OHSAS. Information safety management system according to ISO Quality management system in testing laboratories, medical diagnostics laboratories, preparing laboratory for accreditation. Quality management system in inspection bodies. WSK (internal control system). Food safety management system, including HACCP, BRC. Corruption threats counteraction systems. ZKP (factory production control system). EFQM Excellence Model.
