I have gained much valuable industrial working experience, including the comprehensive knowledge of 5G, the standardization process, patent writing, hardware implementation, etc. In Huawei, I have drafted and applied 13 patents, including several core patents. 5G Accelerator Team, CT lab, Huawei Canada, Canada Internship Engineer September 2015 August 2016 Engineer August 2016 May 2017 Research on 5G air interface Research on new paradigm GF4 polar code, as well as algorithm optimization to improve error-correction performance and computation complexity reduction. Arikan Polar code algorithm optimization in terms of memory foot-print reduction, floating point/fix point conversion, reliable bits pattern, saturation bits definition as well as critical data path analysis and fixes. More research work on different variants of polar code error-correction performance, eg, SC-FLIP/concatenate LIST decoder/rate matching. Implement and simulate polar codes in Matlab/linux C and parallelism technologies (Parpool/OpenMP) Hardware implementation of polar codes Implementation/deployment of Polar code encoder/list decoder on many-core DSP platform with C & Assembly, optimization on multicore communication with DMA engine/shared memory as well as single core execution pipeline. Working closely with hardware implementation team to optimize hardware architecture according to algorithms.
