Information and recommandations o In accordance with the European directive UTE C describing the directives 89/336 EEC and 92/31 EEC, MOD-TCPIP complies with the following standards: NF EN for electromagnetic emissions and NF EN for electromagnetic susceptibility. o Wiring recommendations: the cables used to connect the drives, network and other devices must be installed according to the instructions describing Level 2 (protected environment) of the NF EN standard. o This product must be installed by a qualified contractor. Incorrect installation and use are liable to cause an electric shock or fire hazard. Before conducting the installation, read the technical manual and follow the product assembly recommendations. o After switching off the power supply, all the internal capacitors will discharge at a healthy level after 60 seconds under normal conditions. However, in the event of a fault, the charging may be maintained for a much longer time and suitable precautions must be taken before handling the product.

In this cas, be sure to set a fixed IP address to your computer.

7 p.7/16 4) IP address configuration using the CONFIG IP application This application enables you to automatically detect the MOD TCPIP Ethernet interfaces on your network even if your PC is not on the same subnet mask. You will find this application in SENATORFX.NET ( Technique tab, and the Ethernet module detection ). A help tool for this application is available by clicking on the? button or pressing the F1 key on your keyboard. Important: This automatic detection application cannot be used in the following cases: o o o Remote connection to a router with port translation. VPN connection. UDP protocol blocked on network. If any of these cases is applicable to you, you will need to connect to the module directly using a crossed-wire cable. Main IP Config window: If the module is not detected, you can use the button and enter the MAC address (specified on the module and starting with ), then enter the IP address of the module, which should then be displayed. If not, please connect to the module directly using a crossedwire cable. Important: If you are connected directly to the module using a crossed-wire cable, remember to configure a fixed IP address on your PC. Module configuration: There are two possible scenarios: o Module on a different subnet mask ( ): Right-click on the detected module and on Configure IP address. Then enter the new IP address to be assigned to the module; the module should then be displayed as in the following menu. o Module in the same subnet mask ( ): Right-click on the detected module and on Configure. The following menu is displayed:

8 p.8/16 IP address IP port Subnet mask Gateway Operating mode: remember to enter RS232 even if you are using a Mod-TCPIP module Password 5) IP address configuration using a Web browser Start your Web browser (i.e: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) and enter the IP address of the MOD-TCPIP module (see label on top of housing). Caution: To use this program you must have JAVA installed on your PC. The configuration password is: etemocfx. Note: Make sure that your PC is on the same subnet mask as the MOD-TCPIP module. Then enter your new configuration settings.

9 p.9/16 Setting up the Control Unit from Java Applet Open a web browser (Internet Explorer for instance) then type the control unit s IP address: Default IP adress = Caution: In direct connection to the module using a crossover cable, be sure to set a fixed IP address in your computer. Click «Unit Configuration» Select a temporary installation directory (My Documents for example) and confirm by clicking «Open». By default the folder is created in My Documents\EDEN\<folder with the serial number of the controller unit>.

10 p.10/16 At the first connection to the Applet, 4 passwords will be requested : 1st : Control unit password 2 nd : Technical rights (administrator, access to all tabs) 3rd : Access control rights (superuser, access to all tabs except «technical» 4th : Rights (simple user, access to Badges and Exploitation tabs. Note: The user password format must be 4 digits (except «0000»). Once these passwords configured, only two will be requested for future connections to the Applet (Control unit password and User password). Once all passwords created, the access to the control unit configuration is granted.

11 p.11/16 Use of MOD-TCPIP module with a C485FX interface Insert your module as follows: MOD-TCPIP B A RS485 bus 0V Power switch ( External PS ) 12V/700 ma Note: To use the MOD-TCPIP module on a C485FX interface, you must use a 12V / 700 ma external power source. The switch should therefore be positioned on External power supply. (?) Data sheet: A B SYT recommended 1200m (2730 ft) Max Ø 0.6 mm (1/30 in) 2 pairs recommended Ensure you use the same pair for A and B Disconnect the power supply from the bus RS485 A B Characteristic: Sensitive connection Screen: Mandatory To achieve 1200 m (2730 ft), you need to install a 120Ω resistor at each end of the network between points A and B (see above). Caution: The control units are connected in parallel. It is possible to go from one control to another or to several control units: in all cases, the total length must not exceed the recommended distance.

12 p.12/16 Note: If the Mod-TCP/IP has already contacted a PC from a controller unit, communication speed changed. So it must be manually modified as shown below : - Open an Internet browser and type its address in the address bar - A menu is displayed, click «IP Settings» - Enter the password «etemocfx» - Go to «Serial settings» tab - Communication speed is set to (bps), change it to Then click on «Apply» - The Module restart and the modifications are saved

13 p.13/16 Configuration of SENATORFX.NET Select the Technique tab in the vertical menu and select Site configuration. Click on Site configuration and select Create a network - Assign a name to the network. - Select IP socket in Type menu. - Fill the Address IP or DNS depending of your selection or click on Search button Note: Address IP need to be fill with 0 in empty space (2 => 002) and follow by the Port (by default 10001) The Search button will run Config IP software. It will automatically start a detection of all units available. At the end of the scan, select the line of your MOD-TCPIP and drag and drop it into the Address area of the previous window.
