12 Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) University of Oregon PI and co-pi: Dale Smith and Steven Huter Primary goal - make it easier for U.S. scientists to collaborate with developing areas Provides tech information, engineering assistance, training, equipment Solve specific communication problems on both ends Catalyzes and assists cyberinfrastructure development to and within the least connected regions of the world Facilitated distribution of $3.5M donated technical reference books, $12M equipment in more than 100 countries in Asia/Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East Helps to form and support Network Operator Groups and network training centers Partially funded by a joint award from OCI and OISE Directorates, plus additional contributions from about two dozen public and private organizations
