1 I TD-220 System Resources Abstract: This document contains system resource information for TD-220 systems. Information: TD220 System Resources September 16, 1997 Document Changes Date Description of Change Comments 7/31/97 Disable Plug and Play in the BIOS for NT systems. Default is Enabled 7/31/97 Ultra SCSI Systems section added This change is required for maximum performance. 9/30/97 Change jumper settings for Modem option in Win95 systems. Current configuration does not detect modem at bootup. 10/24/97 Win95 default settings added for PnP By default, PnP is enabled. 12/3/97 Add 56K Modem option: FINFE441 COM/IRQ settings same as FINF856 12/3/97

2 Card (FPLT821) when a 2nd card is installed, IRQ 7 is jumpered on both cards) 12/3/97 1/14/98 Jumper settings for Modem (FINF856) modified under NT. Change method to enable Support for Ultra SCSI Speed Jumper settings changed to COM2, IRQ3 for 1st Modem and to COM1, IRQ4 for 2nd Modem The SCSI Adaptec-2940 was revised. With version 1.32, the method to enable Support for Ultra SCSI Speed changed. The Maximum Sync Transfer Rate needs to be changed from 20 to 40 for the SCSI device(s) installed. TD220 System Information Ultra SCSI Systems (V1.32) The Adaptec AHA-2940 Ultra/Ultra W SCSI card comes with ultra SCSI mode disabled by default. This needs to be enabled in the SCSISelect utility. To enable Support for Ultra SCSI Speed, complete the following steps: Select <Ctrl> <A> when the system is booting to enter the SCSISelect Utility. NOTE: This occurs after the option to enter Setup by selecting DEL. Select Configure/View Host Adapter Settings and press <Enter>. Select SCSI Device Configuration and press <Enter>. Select the Maximum Sync Transfer Rate (MB/Sec) corresponding to the SCSI device(s) installed (i.e. # 0) and press <Enter>. Change the value from 20 to 40 and press <Enter>. Press <Esc> to exit - twice. In the Save Changes Made dialog box, select Yes and press <Enter>. Press <Esc> to exit. In the Exit Utility dialog box, select Yes and press <Enter>. Press any key to reboot.

3 Limitations There are four (4) free IRQs in the system. Each ISA device requires an IRQ. There can only be as many ISA cards in the system so that the number of ISA and PCI cards is not greater than 4 without disabling system resources. For each ISA card over the total of 4 combined ISA and PCI cards, a system resources must be disabled for the ISA card to work. An exception is the ISDN ISA card. System resources are disabled in the BIOS Setup with the following procedure: Select F1 when the system is booting to enter the Setup. Select the Advanced menu. Select the Peripheral Configuration menu. To disable Serial Port 1, select Serial Port 1 Address and change it value from Auto to Disabled. To disable Serial Port 2, select Serial Port 2 Address and change it value from Auto to Disabled. To disable Parallel Port, select Parallel Port Address and change it value from Auto to Disabled. TD220 ISA Bus Interrupt (IRQ) Assignments System IRQs are listed below that represent a system without PCI and ISA cards in the system.
