If the capacity of your SD card is 64GB or above, you should check if its file format is supported by your card reader. This is because the file system used by SD cards of 64GB (or above) is exfat (Extended File Allocation Table), which is a newer file system that some ealier card readers might not support. The system might then not be able to identify the card or send messages for the users to format the card but after the formatting the capacity information would become incorrect. If you're encountering this situation, please contact the vendor of your card reader to check for its compatibility or try using another card reader. What is the difference between SD, SDHC and SDXC cards? Please refer to the following table.

2 What is SDXC? SDXC memory cards are compliant with the latest SD Association 3.0 specification. Featuring with exfat system file, SDXC storage capacity increases from 32GB to 2TB. In addition to larger storage capacity, SDXC provides higher transfer speeds to support the latest consumer and industrial devices. Because both SD and SDHC adopt FAT32 file system, SDXC is not backwards compatible with host devices that only take SD (128MB to 2GB) or SDHC.(4GB to 32GB) cards. To ensure compatibility, look for the SDXC logo on both the card and host devices (cameras, camcorders, etc.). What is the difference between FAT32 and exfat? Which format should I format my memory card to? FAT32 has better compatibility. If you are not sure whether your device supports exfat, we recommend formatting the memory card to FAT32. Keep in mind, however, that FAT32 is only supported by SD/uSD cards with capacity less than 32GB, and it does not support storing or transmitting any single file that exceeds 4GB in size. The exfat file system was released by Microsoft to address FAT32's inability to carry files over 4GB. Also if the capacity of your SD/uSD card is larger than 32GB, you should format it to exfat. SLC Flash stores one bit of information per memory cell, leading to lower power consumption and higher cell endurance. The disadvantages of SLC include higher manufacturing costs and lower densities. MLC Flash stores two bits of information per memory cell, effectively doubling the amount of data that can be stored in a NAND Flash device of similar capacity. MLC also offers lower manufacturing costs. However, because MLC Flash stores more bits per cell than SLC, it offers higher power consumption and lower cell endurance. TLC Flash store three bits of information per memory cell, tripling the amount of data that can be stored in a NAND Flash device of similar capacity. Meanwhile, TLC comes with the least production cost in all three Flash types. However, because TLC Flash stores more bits per cell than SLC and MLC, it has the greatest power consumption and the lowest endurance. Why is the actual storage capacity of the product slightly less than the volume specified on the product's package? All storage products will display a less memory capacity on a computer than stated. The discrepancy results from the different ways flash memory and hard drive manufacturers calculate megabyte. Hard drive manufacturers calculate a megabyte (or 1,000x1,000 bytes) as 1,000KBs, whereas the binary calculation is 1,024KBs. So, for a 4GB storage device, Windows will calculate it as having a capacity of 3.72GB (4,000,000,000 1,024 1,024 1,024=3.72GB).In addition, Transcend will save partial memory capacity for firmware, software applications, data storage and maintenance. 4 The devices memory cards are installed on may use a variety of operating systems, such as Windows, Linux and so on. Sometimes unpredictable issues may occur during data read/write. To avoid such issues, we strongly suggest you format the memory card before using it for the first time on any new device. My Laptop asks me to install the diver after I insert the SD/SDHC card into the internal card reader. Please provide me the driver. You do NOT need a driver for SD/SDHC cards. The problem may be caused by the internal card reader not having the correct drive for reading SD cards. Please make sure that your card reader supports the flash card you use, and you install the correct driver for the card reader. The SD Association defines 4 speed classes to help users identify SDHC card speed and performance. There are two main reasons for data corruption in a memory card. 1. Taking pictures or recording with a camera that is running low on batteries, or

5 has an unstable power supply. 2. Removing the memory card from a device during a read/write operation. Please make sure that you have safely ejected your memory card before unplugging it from your device. Also, please remember to format your memory card in the camera before using. What should I do if I forget the password I previously set for my memory card? Users may encrypt and decrypt their Transcend memory cards with the RecoveRx software via RDF8 card readers. If you forget the password you had previously set, you may send the card back in for repair. Please be noted, however, that for data security reasons, all data stored in the returned card will not be rescued. What should I do if I cannot delete or format my SD/SDHC card due to write protection? Please make sure that the write protection switch is on the correct position as shown in the picture, or try using it with another carder reader or computer to exclude compatibility issues.
