3 Annexure - 2 SPECIFICATION OF MULTI CHANNEL ANALYSER (DIGITAL SPECTRUM/SIGNAL ANALYSER) ALONG WITH SPECTROSCOPY AMPLIFIER, HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY UNIT, ADC AND OTHER ACCESSORIES. MULTICHANNEL ANALYSER/DIGITAL SPECTRUM ANALYSER The compact MCA/DSA should be consisting the devices which should be able to collect the signal from detector preamplifier, amplify these signals and display the spectrum on the display screen. It should have the following features:- Integrated desktop MCA/DSA based on 100 % Digital Signal Processing (DSP) When paired with the data station (computer) of choice, capable of highest quality acquisition and analysis. The instrument interfaces to all existing detector technologies like HPGe & NaI. Excellent count rate and temperature stability Wide range of processing time parameters to allow precise match to detector characteristics and application requirements 32 K or more Channel conversion gain/spectrum memory USB / Ethernet and RS-232 host interfaces allow simple connection to computer no plug-in board or PC bus slot should be required. MCA/DSA consisting Spectroscopy amplifier, high voltage power supply, and ADC which should be a high precision, digital spectrometer, comprising a single processing channel, preamplifier power supply and a detector bias supply in a compact package, USB/Ethernet interface. The digital spectrometric device should accept signals from practically any radiation detector. The device should be able to transmit the signal to PC through USB/Ethernet interface via software. Preferably it should be capable to work as stand alone system (without Data Station) by using TFT LCD touch screen for spectrum analysis. The analytical data can be transferred to external device (USB

4 stick/pen drive etc.) and analysed for quantitative analysis at another P. C. which is already loaded with suitable software. The device should comprise following functions, required to analyse a radioactive sample through software. This includes: Setting and enabling of the high voltage. Gain and input polarity setting. Automatic setup, including automatic energy calibration. Starting and stopping the acquisition. Spectrum display, including zoom and ROI marking. Peak search. The device should be operable through PC via software and should be able to store the energy calibration and efficiency calibration along with background data spectrum. After counting the sample on detector it should be able to display the activity of all radionuclides in desirable units (micro curie per litre etc.) on monitor itself based on calibration data (energy calibration and efficiency calibration) already fed in to the system. The analytical data can be transferred to external device (USB stick/pen drive etc.) and analysed for quantitative analysis at another P. C. which is already loaded with suitable software. 6. INTERNAL SPECTRUM STORAGE Spectra can be transferred to the PC over USB/Ethernet. POLE/ZERO Setting Pole/zero can adjusted by computer control; a digital oscilloscope and Pole/Zero Assistant can be provided as a user aid when optimizing the pole/zero setting. 8 ANNEXURE - 3 GAMMA ANALYSIS SOFTWARE FOR QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF ACTIVE SAMPLE The Multichannel analyzer/digital Spectrum/Signal Analyser should be supplied with the suitable software which should be able to labeling peaks automatically plus peak fit, peaks area and activities in desirable units like Micro Curie per litre. The software should have following features: To execute spectra acquisition for the set time. To determine centroids and area of peaks with background subtraction and without background subtraction. To mark and select with color peaks or interesting spectrum areas. To move a marker on a spectrum or interesting areas. To print out spectrum window. Automatic peaks search with the required sensitivity level. The energy, efficiency, FWHM and peak pattern calibrations. Peaks parameters determination - position, FWHM, area, calculation results can be saved to a text file. Efficiency curves can be obtain with the efficiency calibration. Activity calculation by various methods and should be shown on display directly in desirable units like Micro Curie per litre. The measured spectra and processing results saving to database for the analysis of the specified criterions convergence of the repeated measurements. Simultaneous spectrum acquisition and visualization of all measurement tracts attached to the computer. Adjustment of the MCA parameters required to obtain the spectrum and results of activity. The device is usually used together with Compatible software, which allows the setting of all the parameters of the device as mentioned above. Such a calibration file includes an isotope table, an optionally efficiency curve and additional absorption corrections. While analysing the sample after counting on detector, the software should autonomously calculate isotope activities using such a efficiency calibration file and displayed in desirable units like Micro Curie per litre. It should give complete evaluation which includes method development, sample analysis, graph preparation, calibration, report generation and results modules with errors and RSD etc. and its storage.
