CPD digital load cells. 3 Description erminals D4/D41/D45/D8/SELF-8/ECO-8 are produced in various different versions that differ from each other in relation to certain functional aspects. hese versions are: D4 in an ABS container with functional keyboard D41 in an ABS container with numeric/functional keyboard and alphanumerical capacities D41 in an ADPE container (explosion-proof) for installations in places where there is a risk of explosion. D45 in a SAINLESS SEEL container with numeric/functional keyboard and alphanumerical capacities D45 in the DUAL version for connection to 2 load catchers equipped with analogue cells (up to 12 (twelve) 35 Ohm cells) D8 in an ABS container in the table version D8 in a metal rack container SELF-8 and ECO-8 in a metal container D8, SELF-8 and ECO-8 in the Duplex version for connection to: - 2 load receivers equipped with analogue cells (up to 2 x Ohm cells) or - 2 load receivers equipped with mod. CPD digital cells (up to 2 x 8 cells) Precision class III IIII

CPD digital load cells are connected, the metrological characteristics are those described in the relative CE type examination Certificate. 3.1 Description of the Hardware erminals D4, D41, D45, D8, SELF-8 and ECO-8 comprise: A/D conversion module to convert the analogue signal of the load cells into a digital signal. In the Duplex version, the D8, SELF-8 and ECO-8 models can be equipped with 2 modules Interface module for mod. CPD digital load cells, covered by Examination Certificate N UCM /2-F (optional, alternative to 3.1.1) CPU board for processing the digital data item from the A/D converter or from the digital cells. and for managing accessory data Display for presenting the weight data, functional signals of the scale and accessory signals Keyboard Power supplier with operating range: VAC and VAC/DC Input/output devices for connection towards external peripherals and exchanges of weighing data and accessory data MPP device for permanent memorizing of the weighing data and for the uses permitted by the preliminary note of annex I to directive 9/384 EEC.

4 Page 3 of Intrinsic safety protection device he electronic weight indicators designed for use in places where there is a risk of fire outbreaks or explosion can be made safe by limiting the energy that could be accidentally released in the event of faulty operation and consequently cause fires or explosions. his limitation is achieved by separating the dangerous zone from the safe zone, by installing the weighing terminal in this latter zone and by limiting the energy transferred to the load cells installed in the dangerous zone. he energy is limited by special devices called safety barriers. hese devices can be: - installed in a container outside the weighing terminal, rendered inaccessible by protective seals, and joined to it by a connection cable (fig. 1). - housed within the actual terminal itself when achieved by means of an ADPE container (fig. 4) For models SELF-8 and ECO-8, optional addition of: magnetic board readers or other identification/ recognition devices, coin boxes or payment devices, built-in printer, interphone or other communication devices. 3.2 Description of the software functions he program that equips the D4, D41, D45, D8, SELF-8 and ECO-8 terminals allows the weighing functions to be controlled. In particular: -digital function checks with indications if errors are detected - analogue function checks with indications if errors are detected -initial zero setting (EN4551 sect ) - semiautomatic zero setting (EN ) - zero upkeep (EN4551 sect ) - monitoring and indication of the central zero - monitoring and indication of the stability of the balance (EN4551 sect ) - overload monitoring - tare acquisition (EN4551 sect. 4.6) (function that can be excluded when the parameters are entered) - preset tare setting (EN4551 sect. 4.7) - monitoring of the warming-up time (EN4551 sect ) - weighing data transmission in the protected mode using protocols in accordance with the matters established by the Welmec 7.2 recommendation 4 Calibration and parameter entry Access to the calibration and programming functions for the data of metrological significance is activated by means of the relative switch inside the instrument and protected by protective seals. he high resolution function allows tests to be conducted with a resolution equal to 1/1ths of a division, thus avoiding the use of additional weights. his function can be activated in the temporary mode, without removing the protective seals, after pressing a key and for not more than 5 seconds (EN4551 par ). 5 Brief description of the functions carried out by equipment model D4, D41, D45, D45 Dual, D8, SELF-8, ECO-8, D8, SELF-8 and ECO-8 in the Duplex version. 5.1 Electronic indicators model D4, D41, D45, D8, SELF-8 and ECO-8 (basic operation) Basic version operating with one single weighing range up to a maximum 1 divisions (4 divisions in the ADPE version), in compliance with the matters established by directive 9/384/EEC annex 1 par. 2 and 3 and within the limits established by the Notified Bodies in the countries where the instrument is used. hese electronic devices receive, process and display the data item from strain gauge load cells of the analogue or digital type (mod. CPD, covered by examination Certificate UCM /2-F).

5 Page 4 of 19 Operation of the instrument includes: - display of the weight values - transmission of the weight value to peripheral devices by means of input/output devices of the serial type. - weight memorizing with the MPP option. - entry and control of accessory data such as product codes, presettings and their transmission if required. - reception of accessory data and functional commands by external devices. - weight sums - subtracted weighing operations - piece counter mode - connection to printers for printing the weight value and accessory data on tags, tickets and labels. - connection in a network with other weighing terminals of the EV2 series (authorized with EC type examination certificate N I and successive supplements), EV21 series (authorized with EC type examination certificate N I 95-5 and successive supplements), EV22 series (authorized with Examination Certificate I 97-C5 and successive revisions) and models D4/D41/D45/D8/SELF-8/ECO-8 covered by this Certificate. - connection to weighing terminals D4/D41/D45/D8/SELF-8/ECO-8, covered by this Certificate, by means of data transmission networks of the Ethernet type or by means of wireless transmission devices. In this case, transmission protocols that conform to the matters established by the WELMEC 7.2 extension and WELMEC 2.3 guides are used. - connection to mod. DILINK weighing devices authorized with test certificate UCM 7/2-G, in the point-to-point or network modes, by means of cables or wireless devices using transmission protocols in accordance with the matters established by the WELMEC 7.2 extension and WELMEC 2.3 guides. - operation as a supplementary indicator of the weight value received by another weighing instrument already approved with a CE ype examination certificate via a serial link, in compliance with section of EN connection to a mod. SELF BOX slave approved with test certificate I96-C1 of 31/12/96. - connection to an intrinsic safety module. - For mod. D8/ SELF-8/ ECO-8 in the Duplex version: - connection of 1 analogue or digital scales for their independent management or with the ability to sum weight values in accordance with the matters established by the Welmec 2 Guide (Ed.3) in point For models D41/ D8/ SELF-8/ ECO-8: connection of a further scale via a serial port with the ability to display the relative weight value and possibly the sum value in accordance with the matters established by the Welmec Guide. - Model D45 Dual accomplishes the display and management operations for the metrological data of one single scale after the selection command. - For models SELF-8 and ECO-8, the ability to connect to an external PC with use of the MPP device (point 3.1.8) and printout using the printer built into the weight data casing and accessories from the PC. Figures 1 to 13 represent the shape of the casings of the various different models. 5.2 Versions with multiple divisions and multiple ranges hese versions are given the following denominations: -operation with multiple divisions : D 4 MD, D 41 MD, D45 MD, D 8 MD, SELF-8 MD, ECO-8 -operation with multiple ranges : D 4 ME, D 41 ME, D45 ME, D 8 ME, SELF-8 ME, ECO-8
