Tis is also important wen excanging or installing lowvoltage components suc as servo motors, displays or communications components. Ceck te functioning of te device if fuses are defective. Only trained specialist personnel may set te operating parameters. Te communication connection may only be used in conjunction wit te approved components. Te in-pase connection and te protective conductor connection sall be carried out in accordance wit te wiring diagram and cecked before start-up. Tampering wit te electronics or inappropriate storage renders te device warranty null and void. Te automatic burner control system is specified wit te entries made ere and no features are guaranteed. If tese instructions are not observed, damage to persons or property may occur. Description Microprocessor-controlled power converter for adapting controllers or DDC systems wit power or current interfaces (0-10 V, 4-20 ma) to ebus-compatible automatic burner control systems of te MPA series. Te device converts analogue power control signals from an external controller or DDC system into standard ebus messages and converts ebus information sent by te automatic burner control systems into analogue power or current signals. Te voltage input can be used as a current input by placing a jumper between terminals 8 and 9. Tis current input can be switced from ma to ma using a software switc. Negligible canges to te input parameter are not transmitted immediately. Canges wic are smaller tan te ysteresis (+/- 5 % of te end value) are transmitted after one minute. A modulation dept of 100 % (10 V) means 100 % power wereas a modulation dept of 0 % (0 V) indicates tat burner is running at minimum power. Te modulation dept can be measured as a current signal ( ma) using te current output. Tis output can be adjusted to ma using a software switc. As te output signals of te voltage and current outputs are internally linked, te voltage output also switces from V to V. Power supply output Tere is a power supply of 24 VDC for powering external modules (suc as level converters). Tis supply as a load capacity of max. 25 ma. ebus interface Te DLU 02 as a fully-functional ebus interface. An ebus supply wit a constant current of 20 ma and SYN caracter generator are integrated. Display ebus PC adapter Oter ebussubscriber PC wit MPA-Vision MV5 Four-wire ebus connection To connect te DLU 02 to automatic burner control systems wic are only equipped wit a four-wire ebus interface (e.g. MPA22), te DLU 02 is also fitted wit suc an interface. Bot devices can be interconnected using a special connecting cable witout te need for a special MPA/ ebus adapter. Connection for external display unit Te DLU 02 is parameterised using an external display unit wic is not required for operation. Te display unit is a special accessory. Alternatively, you ave te option of parameterising te DLU02 wit MPA-Vision. 3 16

4 Installation and Operation Instructions Installation You can install te device in any position. Electrical connection Always carry out connection and protective grounding in accordance wit te local regulations and te wiring diagram. Fuses External fusing of te DLU02 wit a 6.3A max. slow-blow fuse. If a fuse is faulty, ceck te functioning of te device! Wiring diagram Start-up Te device must be de-energised before installation or maintenance work is carried out. Only trained specialist personnel may set te operating parameters. Te communication connections and te connection to te display and operating unit may only be used in conjunction wit te approved components. Always carry out te in-pase connection in accordance wit te wiring diagram and ceck on start-up. Do not connect te current output wit GND! Performance during faults If tere is a communication fault, measure te ebus supply. Te functionality of te ebus system can be establised using a simple ebus tester or using a laptop and te MPA-Vision software. If tese installation and operation instructions are not followed, damage to persons or property may occur. Terefore always comply wit te instructions. Tampering wit te electronics renders te warranty null and void. 4 16

7 Application and Setting Instructions Setting te voltage and current input You can define weter te input is to be used as a voltage or current input using terminals 8 and 9. If te connections stay open, te input will function as a voltage input. If tere is a jumper between tem, te input functions as a current input. Te use and te voltage or current range is selected using parameters nos. 3 & 4. Parameter no. 1 returns te ebus address of te DLU, and is preconfigured to te address 10H. Parameter no. 2 is te ebus address of te connected automatic burner control systems. Te standard address for tis is 03H. Important for use wit te MPA automatic burner control system MPA for te software versions up to V2.23 expects te ebus address of 10H as te address of te DLU, wic means tat parameter 1 must be set to tis value. Also, MPA sends te current performance and not te modulation dept to te DLU because of te older ebus specifications. 7 16

8 Display and Operating Unit Operating te display Te display and operating unit is principally only required for te parameterising of te DLU 02. If te display is connected, te device switces to operating display mode after switc-on and te execution of system tests. Only te text DLU 02 is output. Using specific key combinations, you can switc te device to info display mode or parameter display mode. Te individual modes are described below. It gives information on te software version, te software date, te device number, te production date, te DLU ebus address, te MPA ebus address, te analogue input status, te analogue input offset, te analogue output status, te analogue output offset and te cycle time for modulation dept request. After 20 seconds, te device exits tis display and eiter times out or switces to te previous display. Info display Press for approx. 0.5 secs., until symbol i appears. Ten release key. 12 Display and Operating Unit Parameterising mode Parameterising mode Te Parameterising mode provides te facility of displaying important operating parameters and setting tem wit te keyboard. Wen adjusting te settings in Parameterising mode, set te access level to 3 (Service) so tat all te parameters in te Service level can be set in MPA-Vision. After 20 seconds, te device exits tis display and eiter times out or switces to te previous display. Wen you exit te parameter display, te device automatically restarts to update te canged parameters.
